  1. Take mine whenever i can, but she always stays in the van. I then find somewhere to walk her in between jobs.
  2. I use a makita mainly, for my logging work, But have just bought my dad a small husqy. Have used used various bits of stihl kit, but just carnt seem to get on with it, although i do have a Stihl power washer. But as someone previously said, mcculloch used to be a top notch saw, and being honest i have a 335 that despite being used and abused still comes to life when cutting up rough timber on site.
  3. Machine Mart have a couple in. Clarke stuff is pretty reasonable.
  4. Have a look at the makita EA4300F, nice saw at a decent price.
  5. have a search for barnsley bob on here. he may be able to do it for you.
  6. I bought one of these 6 months ago and it's a cracking little saw.
  7. tidy bit of workmanship that. Also some tidy pieces of kit as well.
  8. How does the older DCS saw versions compare with the newer EA saws. Just interested as i use a EA4300 saw. Thanks.
  9. Brilliant piece of craftsmanship. Love the dovetailing. I did a barn renovation last, but had to buy in the king and queen post trusses. When i have time i will put pics up.
  10. Theres nothing wrong with makita, they will do the work that you require them to do.
  11. Another vote here for makita, i have one of the newer EA4300 versions, and i find it a smart little machine, and i use it for similar to what you would be using it for.
  12. Or you could look at the makita range. A few of the guys on here run them to some degree. They're not a bad saw at all and well priced. Incidently what dealers have you got around you, as that might be a contributing factor when you make your mind up. Also what about ppe / training etc.
  13. I normally use a dremel.
  14. I just bought a 135, for logging. Its a sound saw. Solid and well built.
  15. For the last 5 months i have been working on the books for the nhs, doing maintainance work. I only earn 14500 per year. Before taking on this work i was taking home 400 per week for 18 mths working on sites. However, to earn my 400 pw, i was doing minimum 3hrs travel per day, using £80 - £100 pw fuel, using my own vehicle etc and being knackard all the time. Now, i travel 15mins each way to work, then use company vehicle, use £20 per week fuel, really enjoy going to work, and really enjoy spending more time at home with the family and doing what i want. So although i have less money in my wage packet ( and yes it is tight ), it is possible to live on a low wage. But if you take away the £100 fuel i was using, time spent traveling, wear and tear on vehicle etc, in real terms i am not that much less off than when i was taking home £400 per wk. Yes i wish i was earning more, but the reality is, not many employers are throwing money about in wages. I am happy in my work and that means a lot to me. It is not always about the money, but about the conditions.
  16. Stunning !, just shows how sometimes even the simplist of designs can look good. Good work. Can we see them hung ?
  17. who are soneva ? I have never heard of them.
  18. I'm thinking about the echo pole pruner at the minute, either that or the hitachi/tanaka one. Dont think makita do one.
  19. Well i've never been a fan of stihl, so their kombi outfit is out of the equation. I quite like the look of the echo stuff. But as some one pointed out, if the engine goes, i'm stuffed. So i might as well just save up and buy each individual piece of kit. Pole pruner and hedge cutters first.
  20. I'd charge approx £70, dependant on travel etc.
  21. Cheers rebel, yes i can watch fine direct on youtube as well, just not on the posted video.
  22. Thats interesting Andy, as i am thinking about buying a pair of waipouas in type c.
  23. Sorry mate, but i'm after a decent combi system for my landscaping work, already got the house sorted thanks.
  24. Eh ! flash setting whats that, i'm on a pc rob. How do i sort that out rob, what do i need to look out for. Thanks.
  25. Can someone please explain why i carnt view any videos that people post. When trying to view the video, when i click on it, i only get the sound. The screen stays blank. What am i doing wrong ???? Thanks.
