  1. the older i get, the more i realise , i'm more than happy living on a low wage, but spending a hell of a lot more time at home, doing the family thing. Also, i'm getting more into the home grown thing, i love my allotment, but have never given it the attention it required because work always got in the way. But now i have more time on my hands i'm determined to put it right. i dont think i'll ever retire from work, so i might as well spend my time doing what I want and not what others want.
  2. Mr potato head for me.
  3. Hi, thanks for the reply. Just how bad do you find the bad points. Like i said earlier, this will be my first foray into milling, so i want to get it right.
  4. yes, i watched it, who the hell is that crazy guy who did everything the prehistoric way.
  5. Cheers everyone I have wanted to have a go at milling for ages, so i'm going to get myself a small one, just to see how i go with it.
  6. Hi, has anyone any experience with the logster lite mill from tcf engineering. Good and bad points please, thinking of getting one. cheers.
  7. Mmm, take it you've never been barnsley andy, lol i'm still using a mobile that comes with its own brick. lol
  8. Tapatalk, whats that ? is it available in barnsley ?
  9. Arrgghhhh ! its attacking me now, just logged on and hell just unleashed upon me. I'm daring myself to use it as target practice with the catty.
  10. Sorry, but i like jimmy the pig farmer. I think he has done well for himself.
  11. for me its simple, you cheat, your out ! I carnt understand how dwain chambers is allowed in ( the olympics), when he was banned for using drugs. Its just all wrong !!!
  12. But what about the billions they made b4 the crash ! I just feel they are laughing at us all now, just like they were laughing at us all when they were making their billions. I detest the banks.
  13. I refuse to do the cpcs cards, i tend to do the cheaper alternative cards ( Npors, ittsar ) etc, i know they are not as widely excepted, but i tend to find work with them, the training is just the same but ££££'s cheaper. Also, how come non of this applies to farmers ( as i believe )
  14. So what is exactly changing and how will it affect everyone.
  15. the kawasaki range are apparently well worth a shot ( never tried one myself tho ) if your after a lightwieght one, have a look at the makita range.
  16. But a van might be the better ( overlooked ) choice. If not, i'd go either hi lux, l200 or isuzu.
  17. sounds to me as tho you just need to swap the van, if you have managed with a small van this long, why change, i'd go for a citroen berlingo with the seats in. its a roomy multipurpose vehicle. if you dont need 4 wheel drive, why get it.
  18. hi, hope your new venture goes well. Just looked on your website and noticed a few spelling mistakes, you might want to correct. cheers
  19. I would gladly pay an extra 10p litr to keep the farmers going, i believe in supporting them as much as possible. They help to create the countryside we all enjoy. On the subject of grants etc. I was once working on a project for a well know ' lord '. he was renovating a home he had bought for his son. As it was a listed building in a run down state, he managed somehow to get a grant to cover the renovations. What did he do. He built a great big indoor swimming pool and jaccuzzi. How can that be right !
  20. bow saw and an axe, let him cut / chop his own sticks, bag em and sell them as a seperate entity, end off holidays see his face light up when he sees how much he has earned. I was also going to add, let him go knocking on doors selling his wares, but its too dangerous now. i did this back in the 80's, much safer then.
  21. i didnt think arborculture was covered by the cis scheme.
  22. put it down to experience. move on, dont dwell on it.
  23. get a petrol one, you will soon get the bug and want to start cutting everything and anything. Electric ones do have a place, but i would go for a small petrol one in this case. I like the makita saws. But thats just personal preference and i'm not a pro user.
