  1. I'm needing a new strimmer / brushcutter. Doesnt need to be heavy duty this one, just for gardens and allotments etc. I was looking at the cheap echo ones in screwfix ( they're about £220 ). Are they any good, will they take both line and blade, or am i better with something else ( not stihl ).
  2. Carnt speak highly enough of citroen vans (c15 / berlingo ) for reliability, econemy etc. I keep thinking about getting a suzuki jimny, plenty on here have them. Although i do fancy a freelander.
  3. And nobodys mentioned WD40 or 3 in 1 oil yet
  4. Stunning, just stunning.
  5. My thoughts exactly, reading earlier posts, it seems like he has put 2 stroke in where the chain oil should go, and put neat petrol in the petrol tank. Does he know to mix his 2 stroke oil with the petrol at the correct mix before putting it into the machine.
  6. Bigger the better really if your going heavy, but as gtr said, not enough info really to guide us.
  7. I'd stick with makita, pro tools and decent price.
  8. I'm with bt but swapping over to plusnet in the near future. My dads just swapped over, basic deal is 2.99 per month for 9 months then goes up to a fiver. And he gets to keep his old (current) email address.
  9. Nice work, lovely colouring.
  10. Dito I too love that bedford, wish they still made them. They have real character, unlike todays modern trucks.
  11. Nice colouring, what will you make from them.
  12. Very nice job.
  13. I used to do 40 hrs a week on buildings, plus the travel. Then i was always working at night doing my own jobs, pricing up etc and same on a weekend. But then i was fortunate to get a job with the local nhs. 37.5 hrs per week. Ok the money is poor and its not a permanent contract. But it has given me a lot better work / life balance and i feel better for it. As for my own work, i do it if i want to and thats it. I prefer spending time with the family or on the allotment now. I hoping to get a better contract sorted out shortly.
  14. All receipts and statements into a 12 section expanding file, weekly and monthly figures done on excel, printed off then put into file. Very easy, quick and efficent i find.
  15. They're spot on them matey.
  16. I've been using a mak ea4300 for the past 12 mths, and for what i use it for it has served me really well and will use it to do my cs31 when i get round to doing it. The colour blue has never bothered me as my joinery tools are blue as well and i am not a pro user of the saw, and to be honest i couldnt care less what colour a saw is as long as it does the job. However, if i ever get the chance to buy a bigger saw, then it most probably will be a dolmar, due to what i have read and learnt about the saws on here. ( mainly from tcd as well ).
  17. I dont think he is the best manager ever. I think he will go down in history as one of the best premier league bosses, but thats it. He never managed abroad and he never won the world cup. To be truely great i believe you need to be great at both national and world levels. If that makes sense.
  18. Thanks for the reminder:blushing: That thought had crossed my mind when i first started planning it. But then i forgot all about it until reading your post. Will get some air vents and fit them to the sides. Thanks for the comments tho.
  19. For ages now i've been wanting somewhere to store all the wellies, outdoor clothes, etc. So i decided to make an outdoor wardrobe so to speak. Next up will be a bench seat to go alongside it.
  20. Must admit, i repair my work clothes when needs must. Just use needle and cooton tho'. Have done since my mam taught me how to sew many years ago.
  21. What about a trusty Makita/Dolmar 7900, will run a28" bar. Easily a match for stihl / husqy, for half the price.
  22. The coffee table is really smart. Hope the shows work out well for you.
  23. Can i say citroen. Mine has been very reliable. But the pug hdi engine, is a decent one.
  24. Tbh, i still have ( and Use ) an old mac 335 with a 14 inch bar, its never lets me down, always runs, does what i ask of it. Both me and my dad use it for firewood. What more do you want. Now tho i do prefer my makita.
  25. Citroen all the way, i love my C15, 1900cc engine, totally abused, never lets me down.
