  1. Hi Matt really like what you've done with your Landy, looks very nice. I just wandered how you get on with chipping into the back of it? Id really like to have something similar myself but I'm not sure it would be big enough. I run a transit atm, its a great little truck but I like the idea of having a 4x4 arb truck that will do everything I want, plus it would be nicer to ride around in than a van for quoting etc :-) basically want to find a way of just having one vehicle instead of a van and a 4x4
  2. I can't see that because they've hardly changed the design? I've used both early model entecs and later 150s and I think there very similar, the stress controll is far better on newer models too. The only thing I don't like is the sensitive saftey bar on the later ones. Each to there own though.
  3. Nothing wrong with a good 150, great machine in my opinion
  4. Thanks for the response guys, bit of food for thought there.
  5. I was just wandering if any of you guys run a second work truck i.e.4x4 apart from just a tipper. Wouldn't mind getting something cheap and cheerful to run about in so I haven't got to use my transit all the time, so just a bit of advice on what 4x4 you'd suggest.
  6. Yes mate, got her all sorted now. Il have to give u a call tomorrow about your firewood processer, got a load of cord to sort out at my yard if yal hire it.
  7. Oh right, I don't live far from st ives, only live near ramsey. Whats your company called?
  8. Just thought id post everyone a few pics of my work truck.
  9. I would highly recommend the Husqvarna 346xp. Im a Stihl man myself but my friends a husky dealer and when my old 260 died he gave me this saw to try. Its roughly the same size and weight but power wise it will out run the 260 any day and I honestly never thought id say that but it does. Its very robust and very nice to use, highly recommend.
  10. I got myself a mint Stihl pole saw for £300. Been after one for ages and I didn't think that was a bad price really.
  11. Hi all, When i first started up i bought myself a cheap old LDV tipper and for reliability i couldnt beat it, in the end it was just the bodywork that let it down. As i progressed and work got busier i spent 5k on a crewcab Transit tipper with 65k on the clock. I spent quite a bit on having a nice chip body made and got the truck how i wanted it but within months of having it it turned into a nightmare. 1st problem was the timing went out, fixed that, then the dual mass flywheel clutch broke up, complete new clutch kit! Got going to work one day and the engine cut out, ended up being an electrical fault somewhere. A lot of money later it has actually behaved itself for a few months, parked it up on friday and went to it today and now it wont start! I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience with them? When the trucks running right i cant fault it, it tows my chipper and a load of chip with ease but its got me to the point now where i dont know what to do. Not sure whether to cut my losses and get rid but not sure what else id go for?
  12. Yes i do but it might be Ayres Tree Cares van that youve seen and not mine as i dont live on the main road.
  13. Hi mate, Ive got a 2001 double cab that i use for logging and towing an ifor trailer around and i think its great, Its done nearly 100,000 and its wearing very well. Apart from general wear and tear i havent had a problem with mine. I think there much more robust than the new ones and simple to fix if they go wrong.
