  1. thats what i was thinking, it will be a guessing game the first few times i think.
  2. Hi all. I'm thinking about setting up a stall at some local country shows. I'm just wondering who does them and what type of products sell. Also do you just take along samples of larger stuff and then make them to order ( this is what i have in mind ). So what type of products are the best. I was thinking about a gate, a bench, maybe a kitchen table, a couple of different planters, and bird boxes so far. Any info would be much appreciated.
  3. Sorry for bad info, thats a new one on me.
  4. As pete said, anything under 3.5t, you dont need dcpc. I wouldnt even say you need to keep a comprehensive log either, unless its your company policy.
  5. I was led to believe that you shouldnt burn it because it releases bad toxins when burnt.
  6. I think there is a company called either MTS or MTB, they are based about 4 mile off junc 31 (m1) on the A57 towards sheffield.
  7. I'm trying to save for a 7900, but have noticed that the 9010, is sometimes cheaper or nearly same price as 7900. The 7900 is now the newer ea7901, whereas the 9010 is still the dcs9010. this could be the reason for the prices. So maybe you have a could point J.
  8. Agree, would try muttley, for this type of thing.
  9. Biscuit or dowel or maybe even half lap, depends on depth of timber. imo.
  10. I personally would talk to your makita dealer. They are good saws for less money than your usual stihl/husqy. Also many on here like their echo's. It really comes down to dealerships etc that you feel comfortable with.
  11. I've spent 45mins on phone to an energy company tonight, and still non the wiser about things, except its costing me more.
  12. Nice one james. What vehicle combo did you do it with. Like you said, take your time with the reversing and its a lot easier.
  13. I always add a carriage / handling fee to any main materials that i have to supply. As i work as a joiner, i have come across this problem before, i just give them what they want, so if they want to shop around for cheaper materials (dont we all ?) they can do. I just explain that i wont provide any sort of guarantee on work carried out using their materials, and any shortfall/wrong stuff is their problem. I then either get asked to do the job, or i walk away.
  14. Well done mr varty, nice to see the softer side of people towards animals.
  15. Thats a nice idea. Yes this trailer is brilliant for getting into tight spaces. I use it like a wheelbarrow sometimes. I carnt believe my dad has had this in his garage for about 3 yrs and never really used it.
  16. Cheers lads. Must have put my decimal point in wrong bob. Like i said before, its the first time i've really sold any. I got ask for a small load for an old (ish) lady, so i just made this load up from stuff off the pile, so no extra work involved really. I'm happy i think with £30, for odd trailer load.
  17. This will be my first foray into the world of selling logs. Up until now all the wood i have got i have cut and stored to be used soley for my family. However, i have been asked to supply a few customers with the odd small load just now and again. I am planning on just using my small erde 102 trailer for now, and if they need a larger load then i will use my big trailer. The dimensions of my little erde is 1050 x 840 x 320. I believe this gives just over half a cube. I would be supplying a mixed load, basically whatever i have to hand. So how much do you think i should charge ? I was thinking around the £30 mark. The load in the picture is one which contains 5 carrier bags of sticks, which this customer requested.
  18. Just to add, there are many people on here running makita's and dolmars. They are a good saw.
  19. my dad uses a bosch one attached to a saw horse. No problems at all on light duties.
  20. Roads. They are an absolute joke these days. Potholes, roadworks etc, they are an embarrasment.
  21. David, well done on the job front. Now please learn all you can from it, stick at it. and please keep your mouth shut unless its to ask questions. Well done and all the best.
  22. I quite agree with you on this andy. I think its the same with any trade tho. I saw it a lot when working on the building sites, people leaving gear out all over the place. I think part of the problem is that people just get out all their kit instead of just what is required, and also if it doesnt belong to them, people are less inclined to ensure everything is put away correctly.
  23. Oh, and please expand on the job, please give more details.
  24. David, you are verging on arguing again, as in previous threads. you are asking for someone to chip that pile of rubbish for you, yet there is no mention of pay etc. The best solution would be to burn it. If you carnt do that then i would enquire about the price of a skip.
