  1. I use a set of stanley dynagrip chisels for everyday use on site, but in my own workshop i use a set of marples. But as others have said, its just about keeping them sharp, regardless of what they cost.
  2. Sorry for butting in, but yorkshire tea is the best well flavoured tea you will get any where.
  3. I'm almost certain you can get the oregon pro bars in large d033 mount, as i'm looking into getting one after xmas.
  4. Ive just got a 9010, and find it a bit of a beast, heavy and built like a tank with a simple engine. There are other threads on here with more info.
  5. I agree, i initially was going to get the dcs7900, but when i saw that the 9010 was only about £30 more, i just thought sod it and ordered that instead. Mine will get a good workout for the first time this weekend cutting up a decent turkey oak.
  6. Hi J, how are you finding your 9010, that i believe you got a few months ago ?
  7. shavey or tcd are your best bet. I've got the ea4300 and find in a capable little saw. I just also got a dcs9010 and its a beast.
  8. I bought some trojan ones from arco, and they're pretty decent.
  9. i got my 9010 from garden machines, there is a link to them on page 1 of this thread.
  10. Hi jon, its a 90cc, and when i used it for the first time at the weekend, it felt as tho it weighed 90kg.
  11. I didnt plan on getting the 9010, i was looking at a 7900, but the price was that close, it just made sense to get the bigger saw. I'm not a pro user so it should hopefully last me a life time so to speak. Plus i've always fancied a go at milling so it fits the bill nicely.
  12. A husqy 135 is not a bad small saw. I have one. BUT, going by your post and forgive me if i am wrong, but i take it your a complete novice with no training or ppe. So ideally you need to factor in at least some proper ppe and possibly some sort of training.
  13. Yes, i'd like to try aspen as well, but for what i do, just cannot afford it.
  14. cheers eddy
  15. Just had this bought for me  But as it has got a solid nose bar, i want to change to a sprocket nose asap. Ideally i want a sugihara from rob d, but i was just wondering if i could get a large husqy ( or similar ) bar for it using the large 12mm mounts for the time being.
  16. Hi jon, i've got a makita 9010 beast on order, the same one as advertised. As i already have a small makita, and i'm quite happy with it, why change.
  17. Too late, santa is on his way Wouldn't buy a stihl anyway. sorry.
  18. What about a Jeep.
  19. What model was it ?
  20. Same here, i have a little ea4300 and love it to bits. Im also thinking of getting a 9010 monster, just because they are so cheap in comparison.
  21. Beat me to it ! i was going to say, why doesnt anybody give the dol / mak a try.
  22. Wow ! i want one. Why carnt they build owt like that over here, But make it cheap and affordable. I love the old style american pickup look. to me that s how they should look, a proper work truck, not like the bling bling of modern stuff.
  23. Haha, it would but he doesn't do either.
  24. Really fancying one of these at this price. Xmas might come early.
  25. Thanks steve. Must admit its not really my sort of thing alec, but i really do like how its turned out. Giving it to my father on xmas day. If i have the chance, i would have another go at it, but i'm not going looking for it, if you know what i mean.
