  1. Anybody any idea, spud, shavey, gardenkit ??
  2. Can i also add, that i put fresh fuel in and changed the fuel filter, but neither did anything to correct owt. Also when i got it back to my garage, i messed about with it a bit and altered the 's' and 'l' screws, so now i'm not sure of the correct settings for these.
  3. Hi, started up my trusty 4300 this morning for the first time in about 2 months (it did have old fuel in), it took a while to start up which is unusual, but it then ran ok for about 5 mins. After that it started to 'pip/pop' type of thing with revs dropping and fighting to keep going. I also noticed the spark arrester inside the exhaust was glowing fire red. I turned the saw off and let it cool a little. After 5 mins the saw started and ran ok, but then within minutes it was running crap, and then i was getting the odd spark flying out of the exhaust. So any ideas please. Please be aware that i am not technically mind so you will have answer in basic terms please.I have also took a few photos of the saw. Thanks Harvey.
  4. Haha, just noticed, even my trailer is makita blue !!!!
  5. Heres my little beast, a makita dcs9010, just after cutting a trailer load of firewood.:thumbup:Running it with an oregon b&c has made a hell of a difference to the saw, after it came with a solid nose bar.
  6. i got mine from machine mart, about £20 for cs protection. I had to wear them for my course, but i dont for everyday use.
  7. Wow !, some seriously good looking girls there.
  8. Not got a clue jon, only ever had a cheap springer years ago. I was just curious thats all.

I can vouch for dolmaks, ive just got a blue 9010, put a 28" sprocket bar on and wheyhay, ive also got a smaller 4300, thats also reliable.
  15. Hi rob, welcome to the forum. Have a read through the old posts, this topic has been brought up quite a bit recently.
  16. Very nice work mark.
  17. Working with the council, i got nailed to the floorboards in empty houses on numerous occassions, even had a broom handle shoved thru my coat sleaves then got chucked out of a bedroom window which left me wedged there. Good times.
  18. Wow ! pure class ! Have any more photos of varying stages ?
  19. Ive just got a makita 9010, it runs a 28 with ease, with plenty more power to go bigger if needed.
  20. Bugger all !!!!
  21. When it comes to cutters, i just get whatever takes my fancy at the time. The quality of cutters vary wildly. Sometimes a £20 cutter is not as good as a £5 cutter, if you get my drift.
  22. Your better off with proper rebate cutters, you can manage with straight cutters but there not as good.
  23. Hi paul, i use them occasionally to sharpen my chains, i find them handy to have. I have just started another thread about the quality of the stones dont seem to be very good.
  24. Hi, I sometimes use a dremel to sharpen my chains, but i am getting increasingly frustrated at the poor quality and cost of the sharpening stones i get ( oregon ). Does any one know where i can get some diamond ones from, and will they last any longer. Also i notice that the granberg sharpening stones are similar but with a thread on the end, will these stones fit the dremel and are they any better. I'm not really interested in buying another sharpener, i just want some decent longer lasting stones for my dremel, if thats possible. thanks Harvey.
