  1. I'm 5'4" and 12.5 stone. ( slim but heavey due to exercise )On the bmi index i'm just under morbib obese. I work for the nhs and hear every day how the bmi index is a load of rubbish. Big J, pity you didnt get in the boxing ring, you would be world champ by now and anihlating everyone in sight.
  2. My dad has a husqy 135, its a very capable little saw. However i am awaiting an arrival of a little dolmar 350, from shavey off here, another capable little saw.
  3. Yep, i saw that on countryfile. I wondered who had carved it. Bloody brilliant.
  4. Hi teed, and welcome to the forum, it looks a gentile and picturesq place to live.
  5. For me, i understand that some saws are better than others, in more ways than one. But, for me as long as the tool in question does the job that is required of it, then it is good enough for me, regardless of what price tag, name, colour, engine size or fancy things that come with it. People are just too hung up on names, colours, etc imo.
  6. I am sat at the computer hand over mouth to stop myself laughing so loud as not to wake the children up.
  7. Nice one jon, happy bithday matey. good look with the chickens.
  8. That looks a tidy job.

    Dolmar

I like that, and like the look of the office as well.
  13. Ok, i have changed the spark plug, and i believe it has made a small difference. However after a few minutes reving, it still starts to sort of miss and sound like an automatic gun going off, also this time i have noticed the front top cover plastic getting extremely hot. Could this just be a damaged gaskit between exhaust and manifold. Also how do i find the correct settings for the 'H', 'L' and 'I' screws. I have looked/ felt at the flywheel ( not removed it, no tools ) and it doesnt seem damaged/ slipped, what am i meant to look at. Getting frustrated with myself for not knowing what to do now. Thanks
  14. Cheers spud. I am going to try a new spark plug first and see if that makes any difference. Then it will of had a new plug and new coil. I seem to be getting in deeper and deeper without a clue of what im doing, but if its the only way to learn !!!!!!
  15. Cheers barry, How do i check the fly wheel, dont forget i am a total novice at this.
  16. Cheers spud, so if the plug started to track through the insulator, how would this affect the saw. What would it run like
  17. Hi, can i please ask a question. This may sound dumb to some but i am very very green when it comes to repairs. Can someone please explain how a spark plug works, and the ways in which in can fail and the various results of it failing. I am still having problems with my makita 4300. I have fitted a new coil ( as told it needed one by the 'professionals', thats done nothing, i have ran it with all the gubbins removed from the exhaust, done nothing. The saw starts up and runs fine for a few minutes, but then under throttle it starts sort of backfiring, not running right and even had a few sparks coming from the exhaust. If i turn the saw off, leave it a few minutes then i can start it it again as normal and then the same thing happens over and over again. I dont understand how or why it starts normally then goes haywire. I know its 'only' a makita, but its the first trouble its given me and i would really like to get the saw up and running again, but also learn about the saw as well. Sorry for the long post Harvey.
  18. Thanks for this, seen some nice chisels.
  19. Yes 200 deep, 25 wide and 100mm long.
  20. The hole needs to be 200x110x25. I've always fancied a makita chain morticer, but dont really have the work to justify the expense. Besides, i fancy some new chisels.
  21. At work i have been given a task to do to replace a load of fire doors, each door has a pneumatic door closer on it that fits 7" deep into the door and are a total pain to do. Hence why i have decided on treating myself to some decent chisels.
  22. Hi, this week i have just signed a permanent contract after working for 3 years on temp ones. So i want to treat myself. I would like some decent framing / paring / mortice chisels. I need them to be able to clean out mortices of 8 inch depth. i like the look of the long framing chisels, but are they any good for morticing as well. I'd also like them to be decent looking but tough and hardwearing as well, and be able get either a set or in different individual sizes. I hope this makes sense. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks
  23. I wouldnt mind the tories, but with a touch of ukip. Just hate the idea of labour/snp.
  24. I've also got a mak 9010, big powerful old school saw. Dont use it much, but it will handle almost anything you can throw at it.
  25. what will you buy first with all your winnings jon, an air rifle or a pick up or a generator or something else ???????
