  1. Either a little suzuki jimny/sj or berlingo van/c15 pull a small trailer. wouldnt hesitate to buy a mcculloch chainsaw, or makita/dolmar if possible. Ryobi kombi system Dont climb, so nowt to worry about there. Any brash, load on trailer, bring it back to ours and burn. Only hire chipper if needed. Might be a lot of work, but hard work never hurt anyone and it gets you places.
  2. My dad has a husky 135 and its a decent little saw, bit of a sod to start sometimes but cuts well. But I have a little dolmar ps35 ( from shavey) and its beats the husky hands down. Starts first pull everytime, brilliant in the cut, nimble, need i go on. Dolmar every time for me. In fact, its all i own.
  3. i have downloaded libre with no problems. Have had a quick scan through it, and it seems very simple to use. Time will tell, but pleased with what i have seen so far.
  4. I love my wellies in winter. Never in summer though. Like someone else said, try before you buy, then fit insoles. Two pairs of thick socks and away you go. I have the oregon branded ones.
  5. dont even think about mine. they're probably boring, in bit like me then.
  6. cheers for the replies. I think i'm going to have a deeper look at libre tomorrow, and if i like it then i'll trial it for a bit.
  7. Hi all, due to me starting college, i need an office suite on my computer. However i dont like the idea of continually having to pay to keep microsoft office on my computer. I got told by a techy geek at work about an office suite called libre office. He highly recommends it. Says its fully compatable with microsoft office and above all its free. Just wondering if anybody on here has heard of it or uses it. Or is there something else thats just as good. cheers.
  8. Brilliant timing. Today i got given a presentation to write up and present on powerpoint on ' how construction is causing the deforestation of the worlds forests ' any pointers please.
  9. i have my allotment, which to be honest if it wasnt for my dad, would be permanently overgrown. i like to get out on the mountain bike, use kettlebells 3 times a week, and still looking to find a decent karate / boxing club to go to now and then. Hoping my wife treats me to an inflatable kayak for xmas. White noise. i wish i had a neighbour like yours, sounds like pure old fashioned fun to me, and how things should be.
  10. Bloody hell, thats brilliant. I really like that. I love seeing animals carved into that type senario. You ought to be proud of that. How much time and effort went into it.
  11. Hi all, the guy that looked at my pc has tried running salvage software etc and got nothing. The pc refused to boot up for some reason. When he put some software on to try to get it to boot and then list problems, he said the hard drive had been failing for some time and in the end became so corrupted it just had a dicky fit so to speak and became so corrupted it couldnt operate. I'm going to get an external hard drive and back everything up to that. I have just started a college course and bought a new laptop for the course. I too dont trust cloud, hence going to invest in a external hard drive.
  12. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, didnt know where to put it Just a reminder everyone to make sure you consistently back up your pc. Tonight i have learned that my old pc that i have used for years, has failed. The hard drive has wiped itself and i have lost over 15 years of work. This includes photos of my wedding, my kids from birth, my beloved dog that i sadly lost 2 years ago, documents, etc, you name it, i have lost it. I know this is my own fault for not backing things up, and this has been a costly and upsetting experience. So please, please, learn to back up your pc. i am sat here is disbelief and dispair. So whilst you would rather be outside using shiney new tools, (like i do ) please be aware that your pc is also a valuable tool for your business, and needs to be treated as such. Thanks.
  13. I did have a look but i've forgot what it were. It was either a post knocker, but i think it was a log splitter, as the farmer whos field it was in, had a load of bagged up logs in storage.
  14. Not mine, but two i came across on a walk today. They belong to an estate not too far away from me. They have been on logging duty.
  15. When i was younger i used to think about being a paramedic. But know i'm sort of rediscovering my adventures youth, and would love to be a cross between bear grylls and steve backshall.
  16. Isn't tanaka the same as hitachi, or have i got it wrong ????
  17. Hi and welcome. My dad runs a little husqy 135 on the type of stuff you have, and its a cracking little saw. However I'm with the dolmar crew on here. I have a little ps3500 (bought from shavey on here) and that too is a little cracker, or like others have said, you could go for the 4200 instead. Both are more than capable for what you want. cheers.
  18. Hi nepia, what is a realistic capacity for the eliet.
  19. Thanks for the comments guys. Turtlewood, yes your right, the security is a headache on it, especially as i want it to be able to be opened by the kids. The castors came as a lightbulb moment, when i was struggling to keep moving the base by its self.
  20. hi agri, only got the milwaukee kit at xmas, but already i'm hooked on their stuff. I would have no hesitation ( and probably will do) in buying more of their gear. cheers.
  21. Started this project for myself about easter time, and just got round to finishing it. Its for the bikes etc. The base is made from tanalised 3x2, the main frame from 3x2cls cladded in 3/4 half lap i sawed up from planks. Its that big and heavy i put caster wheels on the bottom for ease of movement. cheers:thumbup:
  22. Hi eggs, how is pat, he helped me when i first joined here. has he still got that green suzuki sj ?
  23. Dolly all the way. I also just use mine for home firewood and i have two saws. I have a dolly ps3500 and a mak 9010 beast. Complete ends of the spectrum, but i love em.
  24. Hi, I fancy having a go at making some clocks. For those of you that make clocks, where do you get your movements, hands, dials etc from. Have been scouring the web for ages and still carnt tell the difference between all the different movements apart from a great variation in price. I will be making them out of 9,12 and 18mm mdf, for now just to try different ideas that i have. What size spindles on the movements do i need for each of the the above thicknesses of mdf do i need. Any info at all is much appreciated. Thanks.
