I fancy a cheap .22 springer for rats on allotment.
  16. Cheers for the reply alec, just what i was wanting, some detailed info. I am planning on using some modern veneer about 1.6mm thick.
  17. Hi, i have a small wooden jewelry type box that has sentimental value for my dad. It is a plain wooden box about 80 yr old. He has asked me if i can do anything with it. It looks like it was originally veneered, so this is how i want to restore it.I am wanting to cover it with burr walnut veneer. i have seen several places on the net where i can buy it from, unless anybody on here can supply me some. However i have never done any veneering so any hints or tips would be most welcome. thanks.
  18. I saw a picture of it in the sun last week, looks really nice.
  19. I have a makita and i'm well pleased with it. Had it over 3 years and still not missed a beat. I still get the feeling that some people will rubbish any saw that is not stihl / husqy.
  20. Ian, your work is really outstanding, can i please ask a few questions, what type of router bit do you use, is it v groove or a u groove, what type of timber do you find best to use, and finally do you use any thing else like a dremel etc for your finer work. The reason for my questions, is that i have only really done detail routing in mdf, but the local church has asked if i could do something in timber. Thanks h.
  21. conisborough is very close to me, thanks for the heads up.
