  1. I had to go to the hospital when I was in Norway last. I was cutting some frozen fish and the knife shattered without me noticing and I accidentally swallowed a piece of the broken blade after cooking the fish. I had endoscope, X-ray, radio active liquid to drink and consultation. I had my EHIC and still had to pay. Albeit a reduced rate but it wasnt free. Every department had a bloody chip and pin machine.
  2. David, that will probably be the same reason why we spotted what looked like an Apache over South East London the other day. Tried to get a pic but it was a bit far away by the time I grabbed my phone.
  3. I think I could get it to work just I can't be chuffed adjusting the bolt/bollard for different roles. As a comparison I find the sterling much harder and firmer than the Kernmanster, yet the Kern works perfectly in the RR. Where as the sterling doesn't work at all. This would be the opposite to your comment.
  4. Still not working on iPhone Benn.
  5. I tried some 11mm Sterling HTP today. I knew straight away it was a no no for the BDB. So I put my RR on there. All seemed fine till I loaded the system. It wouldn't even hold me still let alone stop me after a decent. Strange as it is the same diameter as the Kernmaster and that works really well on the Runner.
  6. Why the need to lower prices? Find the right customers and then charge more. Overall you can then get more work done in a timely manner and ultimately make more over the year.
  7. Use a longer rope and use multiple natural redirects. Might take a bit to pull it out but would work. It might sound strange but that is one of the main differences in the two techniques. You climb and work the tree differently with a single line.
  8. I have use one of these. Or very similar from the same brand. Loud ringer, you can hear it over machinery. Rugged and lasts about a week if you don't use it too much. Sonim Technologies Inc. | Rugged Smartphones, LTE Smartphones, Critical Communication Solutions
  9. There are times where I have winched trees with dead tops. Back leakers and limited sound wood higher up to anchor the pull line to. Setting the pull line low in sound wood and then having the back cut under the bottom of the face cut creates a lip so you don't pull the butt off the stump when winching. The faster the winch the better. I wouldn't recommend it on a hand pull or a tirfor. It definitely works in that scenario, it was an old school cutter who showed me that one. In nearly every other application it would be level or above the bottom of the face cut.
  10. Nice one Steve, TBH, I dont see how SRT could aid a crane job. You gonna stick with the slow rope tech or stick with the double quick rope climbing?
  11. I have a 5:1 system that was given to me by Dave the dog. It was for hoisting the main sailed on a yaught.
  12. Most of the Kiwi climbers I have met seem to where Salewas and the like.
  13. Did you scream out for Morphine when you came round...? Did they make you poo and pee before they let you go home? I managed to do my bits and pieces and they let me go home. BUT I was off my tits later that evening. Couldn't even make up a flight of 2 stairs in my old flat.
  14. I will be there again this year.
  15. That is the most pointless tree bracing I have ever seen. More than likely to keep the power line up.
  16. My 150t was exhaust modded by myself when I got my hands on it about 2.5 years ago. I sent it to Steve over xmas for a timing upgrade. I can confirm it is great, smoother in the delivery of power or similar than with just the exhaust mod, but it definitely drinks less juice.
  17. There is actually 3 types. An 11mm which is hedera colouring of a Kernmaster rope.
  18. You have met Mark then?
  19. Looked a proper ball ache mate. Bet you were glad once you could bust out the noisy saw.
  20. Good work there. Why the use of the two wire cores?
  21. Not Ekorn mate. AB.
  22. I contract to a firm based in Oslo. We were pruning the trees in the churchyard perimeter and a few fells within the grounds. The guys were there for a week, I only did two days. Seems a nice place. I have friends living in Nutty Island, so have been that way in summer.
  23. Hello iTreroppen. I was working down your way a couple of weeks ago. Tjome. Nice video.
  24. Nice mog John. How is it going?
