  1. Nice chipper Mick.
  2. How you finding it Steve? I thought it was pretty good the times I used it.
  3. Dead wooding again in a graveyard today and yesterday. Dirty rotten roadside ash tree with dieback to make safe and tidy and then a few pines and a nice maple in the afternoon. Drop and leave, the best sort of job. Rich
  4. Nice fell Ian.
  5. The should do it mate. Ivy removals are a PITA but i find them surprisingly satisfying afterwards.
  6. Steve have you actually tried it on a large tree yet? Seriously that is when it comes into its own. Deadwooding in a graveyard today. Couple of pines, decent spread oak and then was about to go up an Ash with a fair bit of dead. Stop, we hear chainsaws. The local Kommune guys (council) decided they didn't want to outdone and turned up with a massive John Deere, a length of polly prop and a blunt Stihl Farm boss and preceded to fell some 60 footers on their side of the graveyard boundary. First few went ok ish. The third went straight into the tree I was about to go up and wiped out about 4 decent sized limbs on their side. A dead wood turned into a clean up the stubbs job. Still did it SRT.
  7. I can confirm Steve's work. My rebuilt and ported 660 with dual port muffler goes like the clappers. It is a tad loud though
  8. Little bit of Spruce topping today in the sun. -4 when we started but soon warmed up once you get going. Rich
  9. In the time I have been climbing srt, I have never set up any sort of mechanical advantage system. I either just come in as normal or roll off the side of the limb and then swing back to the stem.
  10. You can just pull a bit of line through and do a pinto top tie at the anchor point. Then if something hits the base tie leg you are still safe.
  11. The 3.0 is only available on double cabs. I have the invincible and it goes well but only has 2000 odd mile on the clock. You can et the lower spec trim though in double cab. Not sure on the older models though.
  12. As Joe said. Skinny mini stuff I either alpine butterfly it or girth hitch it and tension it up so it doesn't move too much. For me that is the beauty of SRT, almost infinite options for anchoring. Sometimes I anchor into fatter stuff then pass the system through a higher point for better angles. In theory if the top one goes it is backed up below.
  13. You still haven't got the hang of it yet mate... Unlike myself, a sophisticated Teesider.
  14. Good stuff mate. Nice edit as well. I noticed you have started to put the contracting parties info on the vids these days. Do you let them be available on their websites etc? Keep at it mate, I always check them and enjoy the vids. Sometimes I forget to give props but that is my fault and not a reflection of the time and effort to produce the vids.
  15. Woke up to sleety snow. Working the the centre of Oslo on an embankment. Bit of scrub clearance and small trees to finish. Decided to crack on with that before climbing. Weather never changed so we cracked on. Went up a pretty decent sized Elm and took out major deadwood whilst the other lads went up some ash and maple trees. All done and back to yard by 2pm then did a bit of maintenance on some saws whilst the trucks were washed down by a couple of the others.
  16. Yes I think that is what it is called. Hard wearing a bit like Armor Pruss. In fact it may well be that, just in disguise.
  17. I have used a few 230's. They chip as good if not better than a tw 190. As for longevity, time will tell!
  18. Too late, mate, I am outta there. Just hope they aren't waiting for me on my return. I would prefer to get caught with a Kilo of contraband than seen using a crab like that for rigging. ;0
  19. I have had mine a few years, but IIRC the MBS was not far off the 19mm Double Esterlon. Only difference is I can still use the Grey Impact block as opposed to upgrading the hardware to suit 19mm. You might even recognise the device at the bottom mate... haha. Edit: Oops there is a crab on that bottom pic. Hope the rigging police don't spot it.
  20. Steve, I thought you had Cougar Blue? I would be using that for SRT. One of the best ropes out there for the Wrench IME.
  21. Excellent vid Reg. I use Yale Polydine 16mm for most of my heavier rigging. Great rope and one you can trust.
  22. Steve, try the Stein stitched blue one. Justin has them and the 70cm works perfectly.
  23. It is harder to get your head around big climbs. BUT when it clicks it is worth while.
