  1. Can you just rock up or do you need to pre book the camping?
  2. All cockers, not just workers. I blame the kennel club and breeders. Trying to strive for the perfect dog, whether it is for working or showing. I know of at least 2 that friends and family have owned that have gone crackers. We had a cocker when I was growing up and even though he was a bit loopy, it never turned serious. Let's see the pics mate and good luck with the training.
  3. Or Rupe if it the perfect look, get a pinto and have the single leg between the pinto. Looks sweet but fore I liked the HC extra holes as I clipped my chest tether in there. Also if I changed to doubled rope then I prefer the hitchclimber system over a Pinto.
  4. My cougar blue seems really static at 45 m. I have had it a couple of years now and it is still holding up. My cougar Orange is 60m. It seems a tad bouncier when in large trees but still great to climb on.
  5. Not necessarily Rupe. I rarely use a wrench but when I do it is a HC setup and stiff tether.
  6. Good luck mate. I have faith in you. If anyone can do it you can.
  7. Smooth mate. You do seem to get some nice work out there. Still over in July?
  8. Good work mate. I bet it was nice having the mewp to chunk the stem down.
  9. That Chester is a tenner cheaper at Gustharts than Treekit. I have one and must admit it is excellent. Quality build and the adjustment area is quite flexible.
  10. Great news. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.
  11. One of the most memorable was slotting a 70 foot beech tree into a farmers field from a property that backed into the land. It was about 3 foot dbh and stood about 10'foot inside the garden. The fence was being removed and there was a double gate in the fence line about 4-5 foot wide. NSo I opens the gate and slotted the tree through the gate posts. It didn't even roll on impact and make contact with the posts. I only remember it because if the fence and gate weren't being ripped out then I wouldn't have dared try it. If I had I would have been paying for new fencing anyway. There were builders on site as well. The tree landed and I walked way like a Boss.
  12. I would have thought that the amount of water that tree would normally utilise would be an issue after it has been removed. Your garden may be perpetually flooded during wetter times.
  13. I think it is more to do with the fact used rope is harder to splice due to small bits of grit and other contaminants. Usually takes more time.
  14. 'Coz Neville said so.
  15. Not sure on the bar and chain for the partners. The guy who sold them to you cheap probably looked on eBay first: Partner Petrol Chainsaw | eBay Whole saws are going for less than you paid. Now who do you reckon got the deal there? IMO I would leave the lesser brands to the home owners. Stick to the three or four well known brands. Easier to get parts, usually more reliable and you know what your getting. Just my opinion of course, hope the partners don't turn out to be Lemons.
  16. I think it is just cause you are a sensitive forester. Not a hard arsed Arb like the rest of us party animals. No, seriously though mate. It sounds like something is amiss, get t checked if I were you.
  17. There is a lot to be said for the power of positive thinking. I firmly believe in surrounding yourself with negative people brings you down aswell. I will say that the eternal optimist gets on my tits though, they are always late and sometimes would be better off taking a step back assessing the situation and reapplying ones efforts. So all in all, I try and be a positive person but am most definitely an optimist with a very large, healthy dose of realistic thoughts as well.
  18. I hear the Petzl dealers this year are paying punters to take the Zigzag. Or it may have been a vicious rumour.
  19. Good luck Hodge. I went to Donostia for a few weeks in 2002. Great place. I was there chillin though and not working.
  20. Nice truck bud.
  21. That Thai food looks nice mate.
  22. Really nice. I have the kids that weekend, the missus is on a hen doo. Might try and get up with the boys.
  23. What about to expansion loop?
  24. What the hell was I thinking... Actually the cut back was over the chimney, the cobra was a lot higher. That should be ok as the smoke and flames would have cooled by the time they get that high.
