  1. Pull the plug out after a running the saw for a few cuts in the log. Have a look at the colour. Do the same again and check the colour and adjust accordingly. Just don't pull the cap too hard as I pulled mine off!
  2. I have filled one in already mate. I have many devices, many ropes and plenty of psuedonyms if you need anymore filling in.
  3. I hear you but don't agree. In the birch example. When you are defending on a pole tie a running bowline and long tail. You can then decend to the next cutting point or just flip them both down. That way you always have a bail out option of things go sticky. You can do this of course with ddrt but I find it easier than faffing with a cambium saver.
  4. Well I pitched in a bought it last night. I have been climbing SRT for quite a while now but don't claim to know it all. If I pick up a few snippets then it's all good. I think more importantly it is good to support projects like this. 40$ is Jack **** in the grander scheme of things. But if a thousand people buy then you do the maths. It must have taken a large chunk of Lawrence's life... The way I see it I have just donated 40$ for him to get a bit back and it shows appreciation of his patience and hard work.
  5. We were trying to get today's job finished so I could get home for the game. Wasn't happening. Luckily I had 4G. Iplayer and watched it in the customers garden while some one went off to tip. Only problem was the Iplayer was about 10 mins behind and the lady of the house kept coming out giving us commentary... It was all good though!
  6. Sorry to hear about the Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have a friend in Norway with the same condition. There is another member on here with it. Terrible condition. Good to hear of her determination to try and not let it set her back.
  7. I get a lot f where out of the AKU's. They don't make croda anymore. Nod had a few pair left at the Arb show in random sizes. Might be a pair in your size. The Cresta were never cd boots and lasted me nearly 4 years. The Viaz not so good. I managed to find a pair of Cresta in my size.

IMO it is pretty much standard practice. Both countries have a history of football violence. All it take is a number of wrong uns in this case the russians. They charge families and fans alike to provoke a reaction. No self respecting English man is going to ignore someone threatening hi family so he reacts. The Russians have got the reaction they wanted. If there is minimal reaction, the die hard English nutters will have reason to react elsewhere as the innocent families were attacked. Again, they get the reaction they wanted.
  9. Nice rigging mate. Note to ones self... Get a second battery.
  10. Keep up the good work. Concentrate on good working practice. If you can get hold of the fundamentals of general Treework by Gerry Beranek it is great reading for the khazi.
  11. Fussy bugger aren't you Steve.
  12. Crazy paving! Looks good though!
  13. What's a return?
  14. Good luck with the assessments Paul and congrats on being a two time granddaddy. See you at the show at the weekend. Sorry I didn't get back to you via PM. Been busy with work and the kids. My eldest is 9 tomorrow. Secretly I hope the weather is gash so I can help him build his latest Lego set.
  15. I think the average wage is greatly affected by London wages as are house prices. The difference is so staggering that people in the North East could be seen as pretty well off even though they earn less than the UK average.
  16. I did think similar as well Mick. Post 2 in particular.
  17. Yes it is a pyramid scheme selling supplements that aren't necessarily as good for you as they make out to be.
  18. Herbal life is not entirely what it appears to be. There are a number of articles on the Net regarding this sort of thing. Do a search, research and then make an informed decision. Personally, I wouldn't be touching it.
  19. Like he so eloquently put. Personally I only contract climb, but I will call clients back up if j do t here from them. As for running a business, if you have put in the time and effort to visit site, put forward a proposal and sent it over and applied for permissions on the customers behalf... I would be following it up and if it pissed off the potential customer that much, would they really be the sort you want to be workng for I the first place. It isn't rude to call back for a bit of feedback, it is how you deal with things when you initially speak to them... I.e. Just as your leaving, tell them it might take a couple of days to put forward a proposal and that you will send it over. Tell them you will give them a week or so do go over the quote and then give them a call back to see how there getting on and to answer any further questions. That way you have already announced to them to expect a call from you in a weeks time. If they refuse to answer or return your messages, they are the rude, cheeky ones that you may not want to work for. It is all to do with the qualification process.
  20. Are those boots chainsaw protection Rupe? A friend had the Arbpro climbing boots, quick step or something. They lasted less than 6 months. Yet I have had the Andrews Cervino chainsaw boots f over a year and they are great. Like Matty said, it will be interesting to see how they hold up.
  21. I don't think it is tax free mate. You would still have to declare earnings in UK.
  22. Good work Benn.
  23. I have never made a knife myself, something I would love to have a go at. I always have a look around the blades at game fairs etc, just never had the time to make a knife up. I could be wrong but I have a vague memory of someone telling me that truck leaf springs make good blanks???
  24. Pretty crap game but on topic. Jack lumber. Available for the iPhone and iPad from AppStore. But like fruit ninja but with logs and an axe.
