  1. Hang on a minute........
  2. It has been a while since I posted any of my work, so about time I started. Here is a syc reduction from earlier this week.
  3. I miss using saws with heated handles, I would not buy one without now. Warm hands & dry gloves on a miserable wet & cold day - priceless
  4. The pre-xtorq 372 was an animal, but I never liked it with anything bigger than a 20" on. Top notch felling saw IMO. I'd go for the 461 for climbing - better anti-vibes & smoother. Will pull a 25" with authority. My choice would be dependant on work it had to do.
  5. If you look at the core of the ropes - the double braid will be braided & the 16 strand will not. Hope that helps
  6. 20 years experience in many aspects of treework, climbing, rigging & cutting All relevant NPTC certs, full 1st aid etc Good positive attitude & work ethic Contact either by PM or email ; [email protected]
  7. They are not usually faster, however they excel at re-working damaged chains & precise sharpening which is fantastic for long chains. If used with care then blueing of the chain can be avoided & I can hand sharpen mine afterwards if needed. For long chains 30" & above in my case I would never be without one again especially if milling
  8. Give me a bell - I have had a couple
  9. The precision & teamwork is breathtaking Could a mod please embed this - I can't work it out. Thanks
  10. Bigger Bigshot !!!!!!!
  11. OP - I hope you heal well & I understand your pain. Making a mistake is human & part of living, be it a saw cut or bumping your car. Ty - your omnipotent attitude stinks - I'm less sympathetic than most & yet find your attitude so untenable in modern society. You will be blaming women for being raped next quoting sharia law as the "truth"
  12. Burley get my vote - unbelievably efficient & easy to use. Need seasoned dry wood though
  13. Is that 10" below your feet? I think there must be a sensible attitude to how far to climb above your tie in. If it's an awkward move I will climb until I reach a safe tenable position. Otherwise I will advance as suggested. In thick limbed conifer there is a strong case for treating them as a ladder & unclipping & free climbing IMO . HOWEVER every situation requires the removal of testosterone & application of common sense
  14. I have ruined 2 saws this year by accidentally putting supermarket fuel in them. The pots are scored & when I settled it out it contained an alarming amout of water/ethanol. As a result I spend my money wisely - not always high octane ,but anything but supermarket fuel. My saws cost thousands @ earn me that too so I try & look after the the best I can.
  15. Glad to help - now can you fix those horrible cuffs on your climbing jacket whilst your at it
  16. Side leg zips - top of calf Do you need belt loops? Please Do you need connecting points for braces? Please Hi viz tapes - necessary or not? Absolutely Pockets - yes or no? No, but zips to get to trouser pockets would be nice Elasticated waistband or trouser style finish with zip and button? Elastic back with zip & button front Price point (realistically it'll be in line with the jacket). No idea Colours? Dark - hi viz looks dirty too quickly, however with hi viz tapes will still be visible Hope that helps
  17. Just spat wine all over the iPad
  18. They used to work wire cable into 3 strand. I remember these from 20 years ago at least
  19. Haha I remember that (might have even been my fault )
  20. I would want the warranty offered on one & just buy from the UK.
  21. Climbing equipment is not just safety equipment, it also is work positioning & enables us to do our job. As opposed to fall arrest/prevention kit
  22. Hockey shin pads are great with a clearing saw!
  23. It does come under the LOLER regulations. I treat it as a piece of rigging kit & inspect it as one. Hope this helps
  24. The dog bone looks different to mine, much smaller at the ends & rounded - is that a recent modification?
