  1. I'd Steer towards the bandit in a towable chipper 9" and above. I have used & demo'd quite a few & they really impress me every time
  2. Refusing to climba tree is no big deal in the grand scheme of things, however, i always look @ how to make the tree workable before I say anything to anyone. A recent example was a sycamore with a massive tear-out that needed quite a bit of rigging. I pointed out that it would be easier & a lot safer to board up some windows to increase the amount I could cut & chuck & guy the head of the tree to increase stability whilst rigging. Boss was happy with the plan & we ran with it, as opposed to "refusing" I gave him my opinion on how to get it done in a safe manner. The point I'm making is that the way you communicate your issues can help develop a good relationship between you & your client/boss
  3. Nice job & a big old tree!
  4. Nice production rate!!
  5. Quit smoking & buy a saw with heated handles - or just stay at home
  6. They are grasses are they not? They are at least monocots so not technically trees?
  7. A raise in revs can be something as simple as a blocked fuel filter - you checked it? Can't help past that, sorry
  8. It's something about climbing when you only can afford one rope I think
  9. It's something about climbing when you only can afford one rope I think
  10. I'm 42 & have been climbing for over 20 years & will get up tomorrow & look forward to another day at work
  11. The trick is matching the rope to the hitch cord.
  12. Hang on a minute........
  13. It has been a while since I posted any of my work, so about time I started. Here is a syc reduction from earlier this week.
  14. I miss using saws with heated handles, I would not buy one without now. Warm hands & dry gloves on a miserable wet & cold day - priceless
  15. The pre-xtorq 372 was an animal, but I never liked it with anything bigger than a 20" on. Top notch felling saw IMO. I'd go for the 461 for climbing - better anti-vibes & smoother. Will pull a 25" with authority. My choice would be dependant on work it had to do.
  16. If you look at the core of the ropes - the double braid will be braided & the 16 strand will not. Hope that helps
  17. 20 years experience in many aspects of treework, climbing, rigging & cutting All relevant NPTC certs, full 1st aid etc Good positive attitude & work ethic Contact either by PM or email ; [email protected]
  18. They are not usually faster, however they excel at re-working damaged chains & precise sharpening which is fantastic for long chains. If used with care then blueing of the chain can be avoided & I can hand sharpen mine afterwards if needed. For long chains 30" & above in my case I would never be without one again especially if milling
  19. Give me a bell - I have had a couple
  20. The precision & teamwork is breathtaking Could a mod please embed this - I can't work it out. Thanks
  21. Bigger Bigshot !!!!!!!
  22. OP - I hope you heal well & I understand your pain. Making a mistake is human & part of living, be it a saw cut or bumping your car. Ty - your omnipotent attitude stinks - I'm less sympathetic than most & yet find your attitude so untenable in modern society. You will be blaming women for being raped next quoting sharia law as the "truth"
  23. Burley get my vote - unbelievably efficient & easy to use. Need seasoned dry wood though
