  1. Is that 10" below your feet? I think there must be a sensible attitude to how far to climb above your tie in. If it's an awkward move I will climb until I reach a safe tenable position. Otherwise I will advance as suggested. In thick limbed conifer there is a strong case for treating them as a ladder & unclipping & free climbing IMO . HOWEVER every situation requires the removal of testosterone & application of common sense
  2. I have ruined 2 saws this year by accidentally putting supermarket fuel in them. The pots are scored & when I settled it out it contained an alarming amout of water/ethanol. As a result I spend my money wisely - not always high octane ,but anything but supermarket fuel. My saws cost thousands @ earn me that too so I try & look after the the best I can.
  3. Glad to help - now can you fix those horrible cuffs on your climbing jacket whilst your at it
  4. Side leg zips - top of calf Do you need belt loops? Please Do you need connecting points for braces? Please Hi viz tapes - necessary or not? Absolutely Pockets - yes or no? No, but zips to get to trouser pockets would be nice Elasticated waistband or trouser style finish with zip and button? Elastic back with zip & button front Price point (realistically it'll be in line with the jacket). No idea Colours? Dark - hi viz looks dirty too quickly, however with hi viz tapes will still be visible Hope that helps
  5. Just spat wine all over the iPad
  6. They used to work wire cable into 3 strand. I remember these from 20 years ago at least
  7. Haha I remember that (might have even been my fault )
  8. I would want the warranty offered on one & just buy from the UK.
  9. Climbing equipment is not just safety equipment, it also is work positioning & enables us to do our job. As opposed to fall arrest/prevention kit
  10. Hockey shin pads are great with a clearing saw!
  11. It does come under the LOLER regulations. I treat it as a piece of rigging kit & inspect it as one. Hope this helps
  12. The dog bone looks different to mine, much smaller at the ends & rounded - is that a recent modification?
  13. He was an antagonist & helped perpetuate & proliferate the hatred between republicans & loyalists.
  14. For me productivity is key. I would not buy an economical cheap chipper that did not chip well. Pointless, especially when you consider the fact that modern small chippers are quite economical on fuel, reliable, easy to maintain AND chip well. You need the full house IMO.
  15. Fixed it - the 2100 was as bad. Never a joy, especially trying to start it.
  16. I have done two thinks to improve my 660. Firstly the factory dual port muffler & secondly the large output oiler. When you have run with both is makes a lot of sense.
  17. Thanks Andy, I have bought one from the US.
  18. I usually keep then in straws - cheap protection
  19. If you periodically wipe or brush the swarf off the file they will last a lot longer
  20. Thanks Andy. However the part I need is the older trigger - part no. Ends 1000 which as you can see from the pic is slightly different
  21. I was hoping for something a little closer. Thanks that is now an option
  22. Whilst working on a friend 038av, I accidentally broke the trigger & I am having great difficulty finding one. I don't think Stihl stock them now as it is an old saw & I'm hoping someone has one on a shelf or on an old scrapped saw that I could purchase . Thank in advance Pete
  23. The connects can be heavy on fuel in comparison
  24. The fiesta not a consideration?"
  25. Some well balanced picks there. Godd job
