  1. Perhaps, they were put on the truck in 2012
  2. I had a bad time with cooper at3's - they hardened with moderate road use and turned out to be very scary in the end. Never again & I have gone back to BFGs
  3. A ground based helmet does not employ a chin strap. This is because the helmet is designed to come off you head on impact - it is a very effective way of disapaiting the energy
  4. Bear is loving the snow
  5. She spends almost as much time here as on her bed.
  6. The saws will run on choke if you do not touch the throttle etc
  7. They lubricate with 2 stroke apparently - spit is too good for em ! EDIT! Hang on a minute Mr Newton - your a bloody southerner yourself- you can't even claim to be from Derbyshire which would be a marginal call to say the least!!!!! Shame on you.
  8. Geckos are my preference- aluminium are fantastic value for money & the carbons feather light
  9. My ported 346xp is happy with an 18” full chisel. Needs to be treated with care & sharp, but I have zero issues
  10. Nice - Two questions. Could you have tied the lines directly to the batplate? (It would remove unnecessary links) and how much bounce is there in the system when it is loaded
  11. Yes, the went from functional to slippy with very little tread wear - I did do about 5000 miles in 4 months on them. I would never own another set of at3's. I hear good things about there newer tyres but I have no experience of them.
  12. I have tried coopers, general grabbers & on BFGs now. The coopers got hard after doing some motorway miles & stopped gripping in the cold & wet. They performed adequately off road. The generals were an improvement, but still not great in the wet. BFG's are a bit noisy at higher speeds, but they are the best all round tyres I have found for my needs. I do tow a lot & will be off road & on dirt tracks a couple of times a week - no problems
  13. I cannot see how your wage as a lecturer, is tied to the industry you teach. How does it compare to other teaching posts with similarly qualified staff?
  14. Outstanding skills !
  15. How about phoning them & getting an exemption? I did as I don’t carry waste.
  16. I thought the same until I learned that he has quite severe Aspergers. Explains a lot of his behaviours.
  17. I like my 18" , but then again I am allergic to bending over too far to cut little branches
  18. If you want me to test drive a freebie pair, I will write a review for you afterwards
  19. You worked it back perfectly- for some reason the forum did not post my sad at the end of the post putting it in context. I was making the simple point that turning over money & paying tax is the easy bit.
  20. Let's play a game...... Read the above posts & guess who believes everything that is printed in the Daily Mail
  21. I think it is about finding your own level/market and exploiting it. I work as a contact climber primarily, but i am building my own work slowly. I price high & achieve a lot in a day with the help of some highly skilled staff. So, although my price is over £600 on a typical day, my wage bill is going to be approaching £275. Turnover is bullshit - profit is everything!
  22. What colour is the spark plug ? Best indicator of how a saw is tuned. Never understood why a muffler only modded saw needs to be run rich - I set mine primarily to factory settings, then with a tacho & then check the plug, as I do with any saw
  23. Ladders are great for deflecting branches away from cars & greenhouses - uses are limited by imagination only
  24. They have been sent to spam mail - 7 emails already & The first was unwanted
  25. When you do get the knot undone, have a careful look at the rope. It could have potentially damaged the core. When doing a heavy pull, I try and use a big portawrap on the pulling end & on the tree I try & wrap the rope around it several times before tying it off to reduce the force on the knot directly. Hope it's ok
