1. What was the cause do you think? Minor air leak or some neat or badly mixed fuel perhaps?
2. Yes - learning when to work solo & when to bring others in is very important. Solo is very very slow on the wrong job. Having a selection of good subbies is also critical & hard to put in place.
3. Mine was from honeybros. I'm interested about the issues with trex as the sling as opposed to tennex. Any sources?
4. Mine appears to be spliced tighter, however there is the potential for some movement as you would expect.
5. If it can slip out, then it needs resplicing- i will have a look at mine later & check for movement. I presume the sling is tennex or some similar.
6. Park facing uphill & leave the tailgate open?
7. My NFU insurance covers it
8. Nice cutting Tim, however not my choice of cut. I have seen & experienced issues with the humbolt whilst felling stems. The stem can stall if the opening is not obtuse enough or if the face cuts meet with insufficient speed & I have seen them stop or veer to one side if weighted that way. I use the humbolt frequently, but for this application, I would go conventional, with a snipe on the bottom cut.
9. New boots - need to extend the foot strap I'm a size 44 so not massive feet either
10. Glad you found some decent hingewood. I have zero experience of softwoods of that size & condition, but would a vertical plunge cut, through where the face cut was have indicated how much sound wood you had to work with?
11. I have heard rumours of great success with putting an 066 carb on them - interesting
12. Nasty big snag Reg & looks like it was a real pig to do. Was there much solid wood for a hinge? Sometimes they don't go down without a fight!
13. Am I missing the point here, but is this just a paid pre-qualification for the AA scheme? I am struggling to see any benefits for the investment. It is a mentorship scheme perhaps?
14. I really like mine. Will check the stitching though - sounds poor
15. Enjoyed that - Cool vid.
16. Just did 2.08 - not bad considering my current shape. I am spending more time felling than climbing
17. Unlike most rope disciplines, arb uses a running rope. This requires a hard wearing, heat resistant rope that is tolerant of tight bend ratios. How will this function?
18. If you need a professional, then advertise for one at the best rates you can afford. Be brutal in your selection & have patience. There is the "right" employee out there, however they may be difficult to find. Otherwise get a monkey & pay peanuts, then if they earn more than there keep, invest in them
19. I bought the stihl adapter- worth every penny. As for bungs, I just loosen the muffler & slide a piece of innertube in then carefully tighten the bolts again

stihl 362

Get you 361 rebuild & ported
21. So sad. My condolences to his family
22. Around here it is approx £30 per hour if within driving distance

200t

The 200t's I own earn me my living. I tried being a cheap skate & bought cheaper carbs, had the accelerator pump blanked off etc, but in basic terms the saws underperformed & I continued to have issues. Now I just rebuild the carb once then replace with an OEM one. They all work as they should & earn my my wages. Simple maths for me
24. You could even be clearing brash from the beck for a good time- climbing is overrated I say!
25. Nice video- the carriage functions similar to a skyline one. Interesting concept
