  1. I really like mine. Will check the stitching though - sounds poor
  2. Enjoyed that - Cool vid.
  3. Just did 2.08 - not bad considering my current shape. I am spending more time felling than climbing
  4. Unlike most rope disciplines, arb uses a running rope. This requires a hard wearing, heat resistant rope that is tolerant of tight bend ratios. How will this function?
  5. If you need a professional, then advertise for one at the best rates you can afford. Be brutal in your selection & have patience. There is the "right" employee out there, however they may be difficult to find. Otherwise get a monkey & pay peanuts, then if they earn more than there keep, invest in them
  6. I bought the stihl adapter- worth every penny. As for bungs, I just loosen the muffler & slide a piece of innertube in then carefully tighten the bolts again

    stihl 362

Get you 361 rebuild & ported
  8. So sad. My condolences to his family
  9. Around here it is approx £30 per hour if within driving distance

    200t

The 200t's I own earn me my living. I tried being a cheap skate & bought cheaper carbs, had the accelerator pump blanked off etc, but in basic terms the saws underperformed & I continued to have issues. Now I just rebuild the carb once then replace with an OEM one. They all work as they should & earn my my wages. Simple maths for me
  11. You could even be clearing brash from the beck for a good time- climbing is overrated I say!
  12. Nice video- the carriage functions similar to a skyline one. Interesting concept
  13. Makes perfect sense, But the heavier flywheel helps maintain revs whilst limbing- was a long time ago when it was all explained to me & I have slept since
  14. From what I understand, the 440/441 range are a cutters saw, heavy flywheel & faster pickup for limbing etc. The 460/461 are more of a crosscuting saw - different balance & power delivery. Both do there jobs very well imho
  15. What is stupid about making sure a vehicle is operating within it's safety limits? Perhaps our vehicles of choice are stupid- in other industries the 3.5t vehicles are used as tool trucks & little more. Perhaps we need to look at other models for a solution
  16. Two of my friends have been caught & fined within the last 3 months- cost them about £1500 each!! I can legally carry more in my tipping trailer & when I need to upgrade,I will simply skip the 3.5t & go bigger.
  17. It is only in the last couple of years I have began to think this way & only for bigger saws - 390 660 084 etc must be getting softer as I get older
  18. Try that on a bigger saw & all you will do is damage it & yourself. We laugh @ work & call it the tart start, but why ruin a machine & your elbows?
  19. Job selection has a lot to do with it. I work solo if the money & the logistics match. If they don't I get staff in. It really is not a complex calculation
  20. They look great When do I get my free lesson?
  21. Your rough location & some photos would help. Pricing is very subjective taking into account potential targets, location in the garden etc
  22. They responded really well to a muffler mod !
  23. What certification is required to use one of these on a commercial site? It does not seem to fit into any catagory I can find. Thanks
  24. They produce a competent operative - now that is definitely not a proficient or an excellent one. So, I think the question should be; "At what level do you expect individuals to be trained to & how does the current standard measure up to this?" What do you think?
