    Oregon chain

Just got a new chain off the bay, should be Oregon. Chain is stamped 50J, is that not a Windsor chain. Is Windsor chain a cheap alternative, I have only ever used Husqvarna,Stihl and Oregon chain. Do all Oregon chains have Oregon stamped on them? Am I correct? would like advice before leaving bad feedback. H-A

    Hi-viz

Any hi viz is good , the cyclists around my way wear black cycling gear. The worst wore camo top and grey bottoms, almost ran him over. I personally rate the yellow type, but the reflective tape plays a very important role and is vital in low light conditions. H-A

    ms200t starter cord

    It should be 3mm cord, 750mm long. part no.0000 195 8205. H-A
  5. :biggrin:Great video, I worry in my old landy when it gets to the bottom of the door. That guy must have been using a snorkel, so was ok for slightly deeper water. Makes you twitch if it gets up to the windscreen. H-A
  6. spotted this one. H-A
  7. I feel Spud may be turning to the "Dark Side":001_smile: H-A P.S. Get out of the shed, or Santa won't come.
  8. Good luck mate, and I was worried about my fence. The boat can be replaced, hope you have an escape plan, don't leave it too late floods can get very nasty, very quickly. H-A
  9. Blowing a gale and raining hard near Guildford. Fence down, trees still up. Saws lined up for the morning, need more firewood. H-A
  10. This was not expensive. Seller had it listed as "Chainsaw", no description. chainsaw | eBay Nice Christmas present. I was tempted. H-A
  11. Greece is in the EU so no problem getting bits from there. H-A
  12. Our dog stays downstairs, keeps guard on the van. One foot on the gravel drive, and he wakes the whole house up. My old Border Terrier, used to sleep on the bed, was a great foot warmer, but got too old to jump up. Dogs sleeping with their owners has been going on for thousands of years, keeps you warm, keeps rodents away, stops you getting robbed. Aboriginal people call a cold night a "two dog night". Only down side is they are dirty and they stink. H-A
  13. So, so true. I sacked my employee, he did my head in. H-A
  14. You could always buy yourself a couple of raffle tickets. H-A
  15. I bought myself some raffle tickets for Christmas. Fingers crossed. H-A
  16. Slightly off topic, I drove through Windsor great park last week, how many dead trees do the woodpeckers and beetles need? Cut them down and plant some new ones, common sense gone mad. Is it the crown estate remit that every dead tree must be left alone, so nature can take its course. Think of future generations, they might want to look at old trees as well. Not a rant:001_smile:. 17. looks nice, interesting to see what it is like. H-A
  18. Yes I am waiting, no one wants an aqua coloured chainsaw. Battery drill or jigsaw OK, but ditch the Makita saw line, and sell Dolmar. Dolmar were the first mass producers of petrol powered chainsaws after all. H-A
  19. I know there have been advances in residential wood chip burning boilers. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpkJmJpfC-E]Hargassner Wood Chip Boilers - YouTube[/ame] If people are paying to tip chip, would it not make sense to install a wood chip boiler and offer a free tip for clean chip. I stayed at Brimpts Farm on Dartmoor Group Accommodation, B&B, Event and Meeting Facilties, at Brimpts Farm Dartmoor, Devon They are very proud of their bio mass boiler, I did look in the storage shed and realised how much chip a large place can get through. At the moment chip is being left to rot, making mulch or compost, am I missing a problem with using general arb chip? H-A
  20. "Eucalyptus can cause dermatological side-effects. It is concluded that adverse effects of herbal medicines are an important albeit neglected subject in dermatology, which deserves further systematic investigation. - Br J Dermatol 2000 Nov;143(5):923-9 -- Adverse effects of herbal drugs in dermatology. -- Ernst E." Found this, there are other articles about allergic reactions to eucalyptus . Google "Eucalyptus allergic reaction", there is lots about it. H-A
  21. It is a "Sugar Island" style paddle, river canoe paddle. I always have a couple in the boat, in case the outboard plays up. I have made different sizes and the one in the first photo is a good general purpose size, gets you back. H-A
  22. There are bargains to be had on Ebay, it is not all junk. I have sold a few "good" things and the buyers have been very pleased, Items were not junk and the buyers got bargains, so I know there are bargains to be had. I have bought 3 saws on Ebay they have all been good, but buyer beware, there is some crap about. Some people on the forum say "run a saw till it is knackered then sell on Ebay", but some people are a little more honest. Study for a long time, look closely at the pictures, ask a few questions, you will soon get your eye in and spot the duds. I almost bought this one, Went for £207, would be interesting to know if it was good. Guy said had been in the shed for a long time, spider crap and dust is hard to fake, looks genuine to me. Did anyone on here buy it? H-A
  23. Can you not adapt some drain rods. The old bamboo type have nice brass screw bits. H-A
  24. They take a bit of time to make, would prove expensive. When I make some more I will, make you one, RNLI is a good cause. H-A
  25. My sister in-law wanted a paddle. I managed to print decals on the printer, hope she likes it. H-A
