  1. Hello all. Not sure if this is the right part of the forum, so sorry. I'm not a tree surgeon, I'm a woodworker, and I'm looking for London Plane wood. I'll take anything you may have. I'm in London, and am willing to come and pick up. So if anyone is chopping one down, please get in touch. Many thanks, Dan
  2. Hello all, I'm a wood turner, and every fortnight I go and get a load of timber from my local tree surgeon, but recently they have asked me if I had a chainsaw and if so could I cut the stuff I want myself. Fair enough. So the search begins for a chainsaw. I want some thing pretty big (18 inch bar minimum), and I have always been a husky man. Its not that I have anything against Stihl, Jonsered etc, its just that Husky are what I learnt on, and are the first I look at, and Ebay throws up lots of results. But, my question is this: Is there such thing as a good chainsaw on ebay, or is the risk of getting a donkey too great? I'm on a pretty tight budget having just brought a new bandsaw, but have found a new Husky 440e with an 18 inch bar that I could stretch to. It will not be used everyday, but quite intensively for 4 hours every two weeks. The tree surgeon comes home with some pretty lumps of wood, hence the decent sized blade. Any help would be great, Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi guys, I reckon I'll not be needing anything longer than 60-70 cm And I'll take any width over 20cm, branches, trunks, the lot. As for quantity, to start with just an estate car full, but eventually who knows. Hopefully loads. Thanks Dan.
  4. Hello all, I'm new here (so feel free to move this message if it's in the wrong section Admin), and whislt I have done a fair bit of tree surgery in my time, not a tree surgeon. I'm a green wood worker. And yes, you guessed it, I'm on the scrounge. I need green sycamore for a project I'm working on, so if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. I'm even willing to pay for it. I'm based in London, but spend time in Surrey/Hampshire and East Devon so If anyone in these areas can help it would be amazing. Dan
