  1. The way I see it, as of today you need a License from any local authority that you collect scrap metal in. If you collect scrap from various local authority areas, you will need a license from each local authority. These will cost between £200 and £300 each. You will also need to be DBS checked, this is the new CRB check. The "Dooser" word on the street (according to the guy that removes my scrap) is that tomorrow morning every scrap yard in the country will have ministry people and police on the gate. You will need: Licence to carry waste. DBS disclosure notice. Local authority scrap license. Will it be enforced? I hope so, but I am not holding my breath. If it is enforced, lock everything up as the "do as they likeys" will be looking for other profitable activities, which will undoubtedly involve nicking. H-A

  3. Is that not the usual accelerator pump problem? H-A

  5. Ebay is an auction, as long as you described it accurately and honestly, then there are no comebacks. You buy on ebay you take your chance. A couple of years ago I bought a 142, guy said it had been serviced, it had not and the bar was bent. When I complained he refunded me £50. So that was a good buy, and it is still going strong. I have bought many things on the Bay, most have been bargains, with the rare case of a dud, usually if you complain when you receive the item, it can be sorted easily. It is not your problem that the guy has possibly put the wrong fuel in. H-A
  6. I burn pallets in mine, that is seasoned soft wood. I also burn any wood I get some seasoned, some wet, big or small, it all makes the house warm. I do draw the line with some particle board as it stinks, and don't bother with tanalised timber. H-A
  7. Nasty, could have taken an eye out, you were lucky. Have they stitched the cuts or used steri-strips? Take it easy. H-A Just seen the last picture, steri-strips, you are a little young to know about Adam Ant.
  8. No blade brake on a circular saw, could argue they are more dangerous than top handle chain saws. It would be interesting to see the amount of injuries caused by circular saws. H-A
  9. I like this extract, "What if the intruder dies? If you have acted in reasonable self-defence, as described above, and the intruder dies you will still have acted lawfully. Indeed, there are several such cases where the householder has not been prosecuted. However, if, for example: having knocked someone unconscious, you then decided to further hurt or kill them to punish them; or you knew of an intended intruder and set a trap to hurt or to kill them rather than involve the police, you would be acting with very excessive and gratuitous force and could be prosecuted." Let us hope the hype about Roma people is wrong, sadly I feel we will all need to increase security and keep vigilant next year. H-A

  11. Photo Wallpaper Murals 'FOREST' Wall Mural Photo Wall Paper (8-186P) | eBay There are some great ones on the Bay. Imagine this one on the ceiling. I will ask for one for christmas. H-A
  12. The rules as far as I am aware have changed a little since then. Householders and the use of force against intruders Reasonable force, now works in our favour not the criminals. H-A
  13. I have just run this by SWMBO, and it fell on deaf ears. We have a very long thin dining room, and I think it would look great, funny how they sometimes don't agree. Does anyone have tree mural art, could loose a few chainsaws in the room as part of the ambiance. very Narnia, perhaps the kids can convince her. H-A
  14. Sounds good, is that a cylinder base skim and popup piston. Or "if you told me you would have to kill me":001_smile: Is there any scope for cylinder modification, other than reducing height ? H-A

    200T carb kit

I have overhauled a couple of mine,I found it a bit fiddly, replacing the gaskets and diaphragms is easy, accelerator pump and welch plugs are a little more involved. Welch plugs need sealing after fitting with special tool. Finding someone who can repair it then test it is what you want, Spud removes the pump guts and seal it, he could be your man. Not sure what the ebay guys do, and how thorough they are. Do you have access to an ultrasonic tank, makes life a little easier. H-A

  17. Search results for: '503 14' | L&S Engineers Part number 503 14 51-01, think that is correct. checked 2 parts lists. If I was replacing a spring I would do all three, but others may have different advice. I always try to include preventative maintenance, if the bits are cheap. H-A

Yuzet Qty 20, One Ton Tonne Builders Rubble Bag 85 x 85 x 85cm | eBay generic building trade 1 ton aggregate bags. 0.85m x 0.85m x 0.85m = 0.614 cubic metre. Are you selling 0.614 cubic metre as a cubic metre? or do you have extra large 1.63 Tonne bags? H-A

  21. If my phone gets nicked I can go on-line, and it will tell me where it is. Are there no cheap trackers that work on the mobile network? I have just had a garage alarmed using a mobile phone type alarm system, fitted by ADT. Works perfectly. A pay as you go phone hidden in a Land Rover, linked up to a permanent power supply may work. weld it in a box in the floor. Even if the cars power is cut off, battery disconnected, you would still have 8 or more hours to find it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsp.android.phonetracker Worth a thought, my next but one neighbours house was burgled recently, I-pads and I-phones not touched. Also I had a guy knock on the door asking me if my neighbour owned the local coffee shop, the answer was yes, so he said that's OK then as my I-Pad is in his house, I left it in the coffee shop. H-A
  22. I would run it in rich, not scream the nuts off it to start with, none original pot and piston could be a tad tight perhaps, did you gap the ring in the bore? What is the plug colour like? Did you find any air leaks that would explain the original cylinder and piston failure. H-A
  23. That is bad luck to loose a Landy that you have obviously spent a load of money and time on, where are they all going? Are they getting broken for parts, or straight on the euro tunnel. Will keep my eyes open in Surrey. H-A
  24. May be a little proactive, but could help to give the desired result, as long as the owner is aware of the service breakdown and implications of going a little deeper than a sparkplug change and a blow clean with an air line. H-A
  25. On Stihl MS200t, I believe the single large lip genuine seals are a little under designed. Simple fix £7 parts, 15 minutes to change if the saw is stripped for a deep clean. You would spend that time trying to adjust the carb, upping the L screw trying to compensate for a small crankcase leak. H-A
