  1. I would think that the rotor is not sitting deep enough in the housing, causing it to bind on the flywheel. H-A
  2. Did you take the recoil apart, removing the white rope rotor? Perhaps you have a washer in the wrong place, when reassembling. H-A
  3. The Stihl plastics must be stronger than they look. Must work for him, and he gets to sit down. H-A
  4. I know have you not spotted my avatar, don't preach to the converted:biggrin: H-A
  5. Better Christmas raffle prizes, I only won 2t shirts No, joking aside, the suppliers to this industry need to realise that a forum such as this, plays a vital role in keeping users updated, and can change their opinion of retailers goods, and after sales abilities and warranty responses. Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, Dolmar, and the others, should be invited to comment on topics and respond to comments such as "my T540XP anti vibration mounts have failed again". Would it not be nice to post a topic "my 560XP anti vibration mounts have fallen apart after 2 months" and get the response from Husqvarna UK " phone us on this number and we will sort it out"? These companies have multi million pound advertising budgets, the information they can get from this forum is crucial to their sales. How many people does it take to say "modern Stihl saws are plastic crap" to change the sales numbers? This forum is a huge marketing resource, that should not be underestimated, more suppliers and retailers should contribute. Saying that, after winning a Arborwear shirt in the raffle, I have bought 3 pairs of trousers and a jacket, so their marketing worked. It would be interesting to know if the main suppliers are actively monitoring and posting, I am sure that retailers such as F.R. Jones and Honey Brothers are very grateful for this site, and would think that it is almost getting to the stage that they could be considered foolish if they did not monitor and contribute to this forum. The sale of "Sugi-Hara" products would be far less if not for this forum, so seller take note and contribute. H-A
  6. Don't egg her on H-A
  7. Me too, got mine 20 or so years ago, have welded up splits, new tyres, still going but battered. Must have moved hundreds or tons in that time. H-A
  8. I would say Meranti/Lauan. Lots of the B&Q furniture is made from what looks like Lauan. I am forever mending my chairs, as it is not that strong. H-A
  9. Sounds cheap, is it nicked? If it is kosher then well worth £100. H-A
  10. Well done for speaking up, I would have thought it would have gone through OK. I thought mogs had raised breathers on axles and boxes. Glad it did no damage. H-A

    husqvarna 560

I have just registered mine on the Husqvarna web site. Product registration - Customer support | Husqvarna You need to enter your name and address, saw product number (966 00-90-00 for mine) Also the serial number. They want to know when and where it was purchased. If you do all that, and the saw has not been registered before, I would think you would be OK. If the saw has been registered before, it may be a problem, if so I would phone up customer support and explain your situation. H-A
  12. If you are into Chinese art, then visit the V&A and see the Chinese exhibition. You need to book as it is very popular, I took my family they loved it. Video: How a Silk Painting was Made - Victoria and Albert Museum. Mind blowing, the detail. H-A
  13. Well said Geoff, some people will never get it. H-A
  14. Mike is being nice and generous, can't see a problem. H-A
  15. Don't forget the Renault 5:biggrin: H-A
  16. Here are the thieves, they might think twice. £75 fine is an insult, glad he got three broken limbs, hope he gets arthritis. H-A
  17. I would look at the decompression valve. Could have a bit of crap in it. Or loose sparkplug. H-A
  18. I have 2 136 Huskys, I am giving one to my nephew if he buys the appropriate PPE, and does not lend it out. What a nice uncle:biggrin: It will be OK till he cuts himself. H-A
  19. That is what I would buy. Husqvarna 135 chainsaw (40.9cc) | F R Jones and Son Or a second hand 136 or 142. H-A
  20. OK, I won't fanny around,was just thinking about it. H-A
  21. I would think that an early get out would be, "sorry no serial numbers on saw I can't service it". H-A
  22. Where abouts are you, eucalyptus burns well in my wood burner. H-A
  23. I have been thinking about this today, can it hurt to run the saw in for a couple of hours, and then set the auto tune? Modern tolerances are very tight, but a couple of hours of gentle use to let the piston ring (or rings) bed in must be good. Not running through the full rev range, or just idling may not be the best thing, but running v hard straight out of the box does worry me. H-A
  24. I want to see him firing that cannon. Now that would upset the neighbours, oh no they are already upset. H-A
  25. I am in the same boat, have read the book, it says "Running in, avoid running at a too high speed for extended periods during the first 10 hours". But in Carb adjustment it says "Accelerate the engine and saw a number of cuts in a thick log (3-5min). The chain saw must run 8000-12000 the entire time so that the carb can adjust itself" So it must mean "run it like you stole it but don't scream the nuts off it". I will be revving it in the power band 9600 for 5 mins in oak Have you removed the spark arrestor ? H-A
