  1. It should drop half way when you press the throttle, sound like you are missing a spring. I would take pictures if you are going to take it apart, It always makes putting it back together easier. H-A
  2. If the value was under £15.01 then no charge , I have bought small things that cost more than £15 and have not been charged, perhaps the small parcels are less checked, as there must be many hundreds of thousands of them a year. H-A
  3. The 562 XP has a higher top cover. That one looks like a 560 to me, could be wrong. H-A
  4. Those sharp points stick to most things. H-A
  5. If the seal has a steel case, then you can tweak it a little with pliers to increase the OD, then seal in place. I have used loctite bearing lock as that was to hand, it sets in an an-aerobic atmosphere to as long as the joint is close it works. H-A
  6. You can take the clutch cover off and remove the chain without harming any warranty claim, take it apart and have a look. H-A
  7. Sounds like you need a boat, unknown area and road layout, you will end up needing rescuing. Job for the army. H-A
  8. There should be little trouble with Heli-coil inserts. Some 2 stroke engines had them as standard. I made the mistake of buying one of the cheaper "helicoil Type" insert kits, and found the tap to be poor quality. I feel it is worth the expense in buying the best whatever the cost in this instance, no one likes mending something twice. Real Helicoil for me next time. H-A
  9. It depends on the insurance company, I dealt with a 10k claim recently, and the insurance company were fantastic. They did not even send out a loss adjuster, gave green lights all the way, to get it sorted before Christmas. Include big tarps in your price to cover up when tree gone. If you know a good roofer, get him there tomorrow, so his price can be emailed Monday morning. H-A

  11. There is a special spade for the job. Treaded Tree Planting Spear | Premier Spades | Spades | Bulldog Tools Look on you tube how they use them, sort of wack it in the ground wiggle about plant tree. H-A
  12. Mend it you will need only a few tools. A set of allen wrenches will get you a long way, screwdriver, pliers, small socket set or nut drivers. Should be in your tool kit anyway. Give it a go post pictures, spud will advise if the bore is saveable. H-A
  13. The pictures of the returned saws shows no methodical approach to fault finding, but great cleaning skills. If scored bore/piston was thought to be the trouble then pull the cylinders, don't just clean the saw and take the carbs off. He did not take the exhaust off 200t, that takes little time, and shows a lot. You can get the cylinder off a 200t in less than 10 minutes, instead he stripped the handle and took the carb to bits, a little strange. H-A
  14. "the pom on the hill" like it:001_smile: I hope we are updated. I would think the 200t needs crank seals and a bit of carb work. Why did they take the flywheel off the other saw? H-A
  15. Active monitoring and response, can only improve customer service. Improved customer service can only increase sales, also monitoring trends can help with stock ordering levels. If only all the suppliers and manufactures took an active interest. H-A
  16. When you say "trash pumps" do you mean reciprocating pumps, these do not need priming. H-A
  17. De-scaling the steam cleaner uses a gallon, 5 gallon was only £15. Cleans lime scale from toilets well, I give it to friends who want it for that, better than spending £6.99 for half a litre Kilrock Spirit of Salt 500ml Dissolves Slime and Hardwater Stains Fast Postage | eBay H-A
  18. A mate of mine had a similar thing with a stihl dealer in Esher, he took in his stihl hedge trimmer because it would not idle, got it back in a cardboard box. Beyond economical repair "would you like to buy a new one?" They had fully stripped it as far as it would go including the carb. I put it back together for him and it ran well, I do think they try it on sometimes. Sell a new one and keep the bit to reassemble at a later date. H-A
  19. Speed limits are law, H.S.E agreements or ideals are a little less enforceable and well defined it would seem. H-A
  20. As that saw was made and sold before said H.S.E. agreement, it must be unaffected by any later legislation or code of practice. Bit like seatbelts in my LandRover, did not exist when it was made so not needed now. H-A
  21. You could always have a "planting day", you supply the beer and burgers in buns, sure there would be some takers for a day out in the country. Good photo opportunity for the "woodlands trust" or local rag "community tree planting event" very green. H-A
  22. I would but some large screw eyes Large Screw Eyes: Nails, Fixings & Washers | eBay. Screw them into the ceiling joists then you can suspend all your furniture with rope. Looks like you are thinking about this, I would try and avoid an insurance claim, you will have trouble re-insuring and your house may well be devalued. A bit of redecoration, dehumidifiers, new kitchen that she wanted anyway, is nothing compared to 50 grand off the value of you primary asset. You can always say "No the water got close in 2014, but we did not flood" before you move to higher ground. H-A
  23. Stainless body submersible, I have used one on a job where we had high ground water, left it running for weeks no problem. Buy the best quality you can afford, or if they are cheap buy 2, so you have a reserve. Do not forget that if running off a generator, keep the generator outside of you will kill someone, as happen last week. Good luck H-A
  24. 8x sleepers @£20= £160 pack timber lock screws=£20 plastic liner(customer requested)=£10 2t top soil =£50 one day for 1man £250 2 new chains for saw £30.00 Plus Vat @20%= £624.00 H-A
