  1. There's a 266 for sale on Gumtree about 3 miles from me but he seems a bit optimistic with the price for a "rebuilt" saw with no bar or chain.
  2. More likely the seeds self set, I get hundreds every year off the tree at the bottom of the garden. They are tiny you could fit 20 on a thumbnail and they blow everywhere in a strong wind, sometimes there are so many they block the gutters. The tree is getting trimmed back and will have to come down soon as it has started to rot at the bottom.
  3. While it's off check there's no scoring, bad scratches on the piston by pulling the rope till it comes into view in the exhaust port.
  4. That sounds like the bolt covers, they prise off with a thin screwdriver and there's a Torx bolt underneath.
  5. Isn't the tank and handle an integral part ? If it's leaking between the handle and the tank is sounds like it all need replacing.
  6. Sun's shining here and it's snowing a blizzard at the same time right now.

    Chain oil

I don't bath in it and it doesn't vaporise. I use it because I don't use my saw all the time and have seen the results of leaving veg oil standing. Half a drum in a garage soon turned into a lump of jelly that wouldn't pour out. That was Stihl bio oil.

    Chain oil

Peanut oil's good for stir fries as well🤭
  9. The bar oiling system is pumped not driven by crank case pressure. When you say the oil isn't really flowing how much oil is coming out of the bar feed hole ? It does only creep out of there not come out in a jet. Try some thinner oil.
  10. Be sure to put some paper and kindling under them for the authentic look 👍
  11. There's a stop pin that you punch in to let the adjuster turn a bit further on some big saws
  12. Husqvarna T540i XP is our most powerful battery-powered top-handle chainsaw, ... X-Precision Laminated bar .325” mini PIXEL 1.1mm Small bar mount. If it fits the criteria any manufacturer's bar should work, is it the correct pitch ? Contact chainsawbars and ask what you should have.
  13. I don't like them. 😉 I've tried a few and they come loose.
  14. Do all the battery Makita rear handle saws have the idiot's chain tensioner ? If they do I don't want one.
  15. I use them for firewood cutting on my Husqvarna 135. They are cheap enough so I have half a dozen, plenty of standbys for when you hit a nail or a stone and they last well. I use them till I have 3 or 4 to sharpen then do them with the Lidl sharpener.
  16. Did you keep the rings on the locating pin on the piston, did the cylinder go back easily ?
  17. Some of them have new plugs in already, three should tide me over
  18. Oil pump worm drive pinion ?
  19. I bought 3 BPMR7A plugs the other day just for such occasions, under £5 for all three well worth keeping a few spares in.
  20. That he doesn't want you as a customer ? That would be my take if he'd done it to me.
  21. Perhaps he was trying to tell you something
  22. It's not glued and you need to remove the carb to clean it. Watch some youtube you'll soon get the hang of it.
  23. So on that note bearings are not really needed ? 261 was a manufacturing problem nothing to do with the bearing, I'm not going to stick IMHO on the end. The bearing works for a living on tickover or when you get the chain wedged and don't let off the throttle.
  24. The sprocket takes it, when the clutch is engaged the bearing is just acting as a spacer.
  25. Mine uses E clips Alphabetically far superior to C clips
