  1. Now get the blowlamp and kill them with fire
  2. Looks like they used the same oil for bar and mix. The barrel looks like aluminium deposit not scoring and should clean up nicely. What did the plug look like ? The top looks like it's been running weak.
  3. It looks well dead. Dig it out with a mini digger and pull it over then get someone in to cut it up.
  4. Hello Eric, heads up this is the chainsaw section about different types of chainsaw. There's a Welcome new members thread in the general chat at the top of the forum for you to introduce yourself to everyone.
  5. I looked at the 12 ton machines but decided on a taller machine to save my back and the ability to tilt it into the upright position for big rings is another advantage I am happy with.

It would be quicker to write China if that's what it means ? 10 or 11 tooth sprockets ? you're going to need longer chains to fit those. Were they on eBay ?
  7. So general consensus is you'll be alright just don't eat a lot of it
  8. Glass half empty kind of guy are you donnk ? ? On the bright side again it's only 228 days to Christmas ?
  9. We had a hedgehog trapped in the netting my wife put up to stop cats from crapping in the veg. I had to cut it free and we put it in a barrel and fed and watered it for a few hours before I let it go in the rough ground over the wall. It was really troughing worms out of the compost bin and dog biscuits, man it could eat. ?
  10. Saw some swifts on Thursday 7th May so they are about same as last year but I went down the farm this weekend for some eggs and there are swallows nesting in the barn with young uns so they have been here a while.
  11. Me too, there were loads of broom and gorse where we played as kids.
  12. I've never read a bad review of any of the Rock Venom machines and in their videos on Youtube they look good.
  13. Didn't bother yet as there are pictures on the eBay item in the link and if you go to the Woodman store website there are the same pictures. There are videos on Youtube but they show it in ideal conditions with perfect wood, the stuff we were splitting was gnarly and knotted and it went straight through it all. Park the splitter near the heap so you aren't walking all over the shop. The splitter has a different operating twin lever system and only one table but I made one for the other side.
  14. I asked about splitters a while ago and I can't find the thread. I have a small electric 4 ton splitter which is alright on perfect wood with no knots but I wanted something bigger and mobile. I recently bought a Black tools 18 ton splitter from woodmanstore on eBay. I took it down to the farm yesterday and we split a trailer of seasoned stuff we'd cut up and it didn't baulk at anything we put in front of it. I tried it in the upright position on some biggish rounds and it cracked them no problem. It has a Loncin 6.5hp engine which is only running about 1/2 revs and didn't use much fuel in the hour it was running, I have to get the hang of starting it but am getting there. It arrived in a crate and took about 3 hours of assembly I needed a hand to fit the ram section but once it was together with the wheels on it was easy to move round single handed.
  15. There looks a lot of wear on that stud to say it screws into a plastic chassis. It must have been spinning free for some time to wear out like that. It does look like it's had some abuse and I don't mean verbal after it bit you.
  16. Did you put clutch in the search otherwise you could be searching for a piston little end bearing which is smaller.
  17. Cut the spare threads off with a hacksaw or Dremel.

    Jokes???

Ice cream van caught fire on the street today, the fire brigade are there now just putting the cones out.
  19. If they are not high carbon steel you are wasting time and fuel heat treating the metal and they need tempering after or they will be brittle. Case hardening is only a surface treatment.
  20. Not familiar with 026 but can you fit the fuel and impulse lines the wrong way round, get them mixed up ?
  21. Nobody has just said NO ?
  22. We don't usually get them till a couple of weeks into May so I'm not looking yet but we have had some warm days and clear skies till this weekend and now it's grey clouds but still warm. I walk up to the higher ground locally to watch them when they are here. They always seem to appear there before we get the lower down.

    Scam?

Is it a scam ? It's half price, what do you think ? Enter into a dialogue with the seller and listen to the excuses why you can't pick it up and pay cash then report it to eBay via live chat. They are not very quick but they do take the listings down eventually.
  24. Black of course, you don't want silver on that. It does look like vinyl with a cloth backing, 3M do repair kits for vinyl and leather seats.
  25. Do I have to check to see which is loudest ? Get ready neighbours.
