  1. They only contract to where they were before they got hot though so if they were not too tight before you started cutting they should not cause any damage.
  2. They probably prefer the old style fuel caps 😂
  3. Or it might set fire to your saw, it's a win win either way. The saw works or you need to get a new one 😄
  4. The positive air flow from the flywheel should push air out through the gap as it feeds to the filter area. If you don't like the look of the saw send it back.
  5. It's definitely going to get dusty and dirty when you use it. I don't think I would even have noticed that and it would be getting used to see if it was any good. Have you had the cover off to see if it goes back on any different. Once it's been warm it might change shape and fit better.
  6. That looks like it's been run for a long time with the brake on. I'd renew the lot, clutch, drum and bearing.
  7. They need to read the manual.
  8. As if ! When have you ever heard a vegan telling everyone they're vegan ? Coeliac vegan non smoker would be a nightmare 😱

If it was that then should Stihl be delivered in a glass case ?

Not shaving Ryan's privates on DVD ?
  11. Only in hot weather My Lidl grinder works fine for my weekend warrior activities cutting rough and dirty timber.
  12. Is the wheel a proper size for the unit ? It may have a larger centre hole and be running eccentrically.
  13. Most start off with 1.25 to 1.5 turns on both screws, what you have there will be rich on both screws
  14. Deep sockets are a godsend for jobs like this. If you get one that covers the outside of the seal but doesn't fit in the hole so you only go flush that's perfect.
  15. So the thread in the cylinder failed not the spark plug stripping the thread. I bought a MS460 with a stripped thread someone had tried to repair, you could have fitted a bigger plug in it by the time there was enough metal left to cut into. I bought a genuine Stihl cylinder and piston and when I stripped it found the piston in it had a cracked land so it needed the full repair.
  16. Put your approximate location in your profile and someone will probably be close enough to give you some pointers like Mark has offered. If the saw runs and keeps running use it but get it started and find out before the day you need it or you will be disappointed and frustrated, nothing worse than pulling on a cord for 5 minutes getting out of breath. Flick the brake on and make sure it holds the chain, watch a couple of videos to see where they go wrong or what to avoid. You could buy a small saw like Husqvarna 120 for about £130 from a lot of suppliers and get started, get a few spare chains as well.
  17. A friend of mine had a TS410 given him. It would fire but not run and had been to a "garden repair" shop. I cleaned it all up and rebuilt the carb, blew everything out with the compressor and it ran but wouldn't rev out. Everything checked out fine with good compression etc. He bought a new filter and it still wouldn't rev so I put a carb kit in it and had the carb body sonic cleaned and it was perfect.
  18. You have to wear a mask in Tesco.
  19. You don't need a power tool it will scrape off with a piece of aluminium and clean up with wet and dry wrapped round a dowel. Fire some carb or brake cleaner at it to soften it up and don't be impatient.
  20. As they are called round here, carpet carriers My mate asked one in the pub if he had boils under his armpits, he nearly had to turn sideways to get in the door.
  21. Access to the cut from the other side of a tree ?
  22. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it's running and cutting crack on.

    gasket

There's a carb with two gaskets for £20ish on Amazon so they are available. I didn't see any on my 135 which is similar saw.

If an AO41 works I'll get one when it needs replacing thanks.

Mine's like that and if I try to sort it it lags on pickup so it gets left alone. The chain is not running till I trigger it so it's not a problem. It has a decent bar on it but if I change it I would like to try a 10" replacement. What is the bar pattern on them anybody ?
