  1. I have an Irus Deltrak that has bolt-on spikes - the machine has phenomenal climbing ability anyway without them. The spike mean you can climb 60 degree slopes instead of 55 degrees...
  2. I have a set of BFG AT's for summer use and BFG MT KM2's for the winter/ wet conditions on my Defender 130 and can't fault them. Especially when working in woodlands in the autumn/winter
  3. This is our remote control mower..... If you've got the vegetation, we can cut it. Regardless of the terrain or steepness of any slopes....
  4. Try the Croydon tree station
  5. Hi, We sell the Verdo wood briquette in 1/4 (24 X 10kg), 1/2 (48 x 10kg) or full pallet (96x10kg). Delivery into the Home Counties 7 days a week, 360 days a year. Prices on the website: http://www.hertswoodfuel.co.uk) Regards, Matt
  6. Many years ago while taking part in national Arb day at a site in Leics, the MD of Midland Tree Surgeons (Robert Kennedy)was doing a piece to camera, while standing adjacent a set up if kit including rope, saws etc. About 50 ft away Southern Tree Surgeons (as was, pre-Bartlett Tree), we're working on a tree using a Gibbs Woodchuck chipper, grounds an picked up a pile of brushwood and fed it in - not knowing that he had picked up rope as well. Kennedy was standing in the coils of rope and when the chipper grabbed the rope and it went tight, Kennedy's leg was turned into a corkscrew.....!
  7. This is our new "specialist vegetation mowing tractor/machine....
  8. Defender 130 single or double cab
  9. Hi, we have this: An Irus Deltrak equipped with a 105cm heavy duty flail. Available with operator - up to 5x times as efficient as clearing saws on any terrain, including 60 degree slopes.
  10. I'd have one of these with a tipper on the back....
  11. Different vehicle - but I have hydraulics on my defender 130, 1x circuit at the front & another at the rear. Can run a hydraulics log splitter of it quite easily.
  12. Ms261-cm with 16 or 18 inch, MS441 with 25"
  13. Ticking over nicely - picked up new customers who run pop-up restaurants selling smoked meats. Woodfuel pellets are flying out of the door as well courtesy of the RHI tariff
  14. Here's a blast from the past. Grinding out an 8' diameter beech stump, approx 2' above ground level using the superb Rayco 1665 in 1995 at a site in Notts.
  15. There's an App on the Apple App Store: Called RiskAssessor. Works on iPhone & ipad
  16. Try DunBri at Buntingford, Herts. They do a massive range of LED lights.
  17. Try Brian Jackson - all the farmers in around me use him, including me. Mobile: 07530-400644 Matt
  18. We run Stihl 410C clearing saws with Supercut 40-20 heads. M-tronic engines! Fuelled with Aspen2. They always start, low maintenance, lots of power to tackle all types of vegetation. My oldest one is now 4 years old and still going (used all year)
  19. We season in a combination of vented bags, and folding stillage cages - BUT we deliver loose loads in 2 sizes. Very rarely get mould in the bags as stored undercover in large barns with very good airflow.. This way you only need to send one person to deliver, no struggling or risking injury trying to tip or move a bag.
  20. LR Defender 130 CrewCab with Tibus Portal Hubs....
  21. Please Sir, Please can I have one of these.......? Fitted with the amazing Ashcroft Underdrive AND air lockers!!!!!!
  22. I've been in the industry since late eighties, when Fountains was a small forestry outlet in the North, and the big players were; Southern Tree Surgeons in the south, George Walker Tree Care, Salcey Arb & Midland Tree Surgeons in the Midlands/North....
  23. I remember a time when G & T was a small outfit from the south....
  24. 5m3 out today. Got 100m3 left with 150m3 freshly cut so far for next year.....
  25. Morning Fent, Bags are stored undercover in vented barns but as the farm sits on a hill with great air currents where letting it air dry a bit before it goes undercover. Think there's 70x 1.2m3 bags in the photo, with a lot more to fill. We also use bespoke folding stillage cages to single species specials. Matt
