  1. I've been in the industry since late eighties, when Fountains was a small forestry outlet in the North, and the big players were; Southern Tree Surgeons in the south, George Walker Tree Care, Salcey Arb & Midland Tree Surgeons in the Midlands/North....
  2. I remember a time when G & T was a small outfit from the south....
  3. 5m3 out today. Got 100m3 left with 150m3 freshly cut so far for next year.....
  4. Morning Fent, Bags are stored undercover in vented barns but as the farm sits on a hill with great air currents where letting it air dry a bit before it goes undercover. Think there's 70x 1.2m3 bags in the photo, with a lot more to fill. We also use bespoke folding stillage cages to single species specials. Matt
  5. Lazer Lamps LED Lightbars every time. Got 2 RS4's on the Defender at the moment (plus LED headlights) - turns night into day, with minimal power use......
  6. Firewood & Woodfuel pellets are selling well. Got a small stack of timber in the yard at the moment that we're working thro.....
  7. Try PR Newson ltd or Treewood Harvesting.
  8. My 130 does 23mpg when towing a heavy trailer, closer to 30 mpg when empty and cruising at 60 in 5th. Though when pushing hard at 80, fuel hits 20 - 21mpg...
  9. 2004 TD5 130 has just rolled over to 171K & the original turbo has just been changed by Foley Land Rovers....
  10. Bayer Pistol Residual herbicide. Kills everything, stays active in soil for up to 6 months
  11. Just A Only sell hardwood firewood. This is a little pile in the yard at the moment...... 1 man went to split....
  12. Odessy deep cycle batteries as used on LR Defenders. Not fazed by the cold or heavy cranking.
  13. Hi Jon, the air springs are plumbed into the compressor on a live feed. To increase air pressure I use a toggle switch in the cab. There's a tyre inflator on the compressor - which is great for tyre pressures. Compressor has enough capacity to run air lockers as well.
  14. I run my 130 with 50psi in the rear - but I have air springs on the back so when empty, I run them at about 15psi for a soft/smooth ride...
  15. We dry using a mix of vented bags and log crates. Looking at using heavy duty fold-flat stillage cages at the moment as they are the same price as log crates and will last longer.
  16. I've got a Superwinch Husky 10 with plasma rope - limit is about 5 ton but the plasma rope has a break limit of 14 tonnes....
  17. This is how I've done it - Signs Express at Harlow used reflective livery for all - looks great when picked up in headlights: 3M did research some years ago that proved on average a vehicle was seen by up to 2000 people per hour - so use it like an advertising hoarding - pay for it once.
  18. Glad I've got a Webasto cab heater and heated seats in my LR Defender.....
  19. Our website is with MrSite - got the Pro version. Costs £99 a year, up to 50 pages, 10x email addresses, very easy to set up and do yourself with all templates. Technical, support is brilliant - based in London. If you haven't got time they'll do it for you. I've just refreshed mine - took no more than a couple of hours on a Sunday. http://www.hertswoodfuel.co.uk
  20. A Defender does what it say on the tin, every day for a long time with cast iron residuals - even after a decade. This was a light load yesterday....
  21. This is mine, extracting Sycamore in SSSI woodland near Waltham Abbey...
  22. Yes a g-wagen is good offroad but it's too heavy. Had a swb 300GD Commercial in the late 80's - it weighed nearly 2 tonnes..
  23. I'd change my single cab 130 for one of these with a tipper unit on the back. Tibus Engineering portal-hub equipped LR130
  24. If you're collecting - Kubota G26. If not - Kubota F3060 / 3860
