  1. Matthew, don't understand your post. The Trimax & Muthing are both PTO shaft driven. No hydraulics involved in driving the rotor. I've had my Trimax for 7 years - it's never let me down yet. Easy to repair, parts competitively priced and it's simplicity in itself. http://www.trimaxmowers.co.uk Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  2. When towing my LM126 with the Defender 130, we average 25mpg. No towing, normal driving with the 'old' speed splurge, the Defender averages 29mpg. Usually get to about 375 miles on the trip before the low fuel light comes on - and there's still at least 10 litres in the tank. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  3. Nigel Baddley at Kentdown Mushrooms in Kent has a very cool defender 130 factor fitted with a Hiab. He gets 2/3 Bulgaria bags on the rear deck and then extra bags on a trailer. Delivers into London on a regular basis. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  4. Give Paul a call at KMR Engineering in Suffolk, they do a good tipper for Defenders. They've mad both of mine - no complaints. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  5. We used to deliver in the same vented bags we seasoned in. Then tipped by hand at customers address or left with customer - an expensive option. Now season in a combination of vented bag and purpose made log crate and deliver loose. If a customer needs the firewood stacking - we offer the service. This way, one delivery vehicle. Crates & bags are loaded at the yard using a jcb loadall - minimal handling. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  6. I'd buy a Kubota F- Series with either a Muthing or Trimax flail for the tough stuff & use the supplied rotary deck for the smart grass. Or it's always really rough stuff - try one of these.... Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  7. Joel - you're talking about Foley Land Rovers. The transfer box to make it a true 6x6 for the 3rd axle was a £4k work of art. http://www.foleysv.com Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  8. Our work is split 60/40 commercial. Our largest client is a Train a Operating Company; we receive a purchase order ( which is basically money in the bank), carry out the work & invoice. Their terms are 90 days - we get paid on exactly on time. With no problems. In our grounds maintenance T&C there is a clause regarding late payment & interest payable - I've only had to implement once in 8 years. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  9. Try the Viking 650 or 655VM mulching mower. Comes with a removable plug and grass box. Will mulch, discharge to ground or collect. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  10. Hi Jack, Give Robert Kennedy a call at Midland Tree Surgeons, based near burton on Trent - he maybe able to help. Good company to work for, been around a very long time and he used to be chairman of the Arboricultural Association. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  11. I've got a Caroni flail fitted to my Antonio Cararo TTR, it copes with everything I put in its way. and it still fits on a trailer. Pic taken end of yesterday. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  12. It all depends what you want the tractor for. We have an Antonio Carraro TTR4400 Alpine tractor. It's 40hp, bi-directional. Used for low impact woodland management, log splitting, paddock maintenance including spraying and flail mowing. It's only 4ft wide! Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  13. Business has increased as more domestic customers install woodfuel pellet boilers and then need a bagged supply. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  14. As we sell woodfuel pellets, we are going through the process of registering on the biomass suppliers. It's just a case of supplying info on the RHI applicable products you sell and or produce, along with carbon lifecycles. It makes sense long term. 15. I've got 2x 261-CM Only run on Aspen2. starts first time, runs great. Never had any problems in nearly a year. Loads of power a great successor to the original 026 from the nineties. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  16. Get a Defender 130. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  17. Years ago working for Midland Tree Surgeons, we had to remove windblown trees from the flooded Trent just outside Burton. Used Steve Foster Cranes - lowered a team over the river, chained, cut, lifted out to the wood chipper team on the roadside. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  18. The original VW Transporter Syncro was brilliant. My father ran 4 on his company in the 80's, they'd go anywhere. Diff locks in both axles, low first gear 16" mud tyres & a ton payload. The new version is a very soft version.. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  19. Get iPads. Encase them in a LifeProof case - shock, dust, water, snow proof! Everything backs to icloud, calendar link to iPhones.... Still not convinced? Watch the videos here: http://www.lifeproof.com/en/why-lifeproof/proofs/ Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  20. Phil Newson at PR Newson nr Buntingford, has a Jenz Whole tree chipper & does biomass. Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  21. 45 in September - still feel 21. Except for the dodgy knees, chainsaw injured forearm, clearing saw injured foot...... Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  22. Morning Humpo, it's a Ring Automotive kit that came from Ernest Doe - meant for a tractor or combine cost about £180+VAT Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  23. Got a Stihl KM90R combi system, it's 9 yrs old and engine has never let me down yet. Normal wear & tear on attachments, especially the power brush - destroyed mine in about 3 hrs whilst sweeping an old tennis court! Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  24. I've got a rear mounted one on my Defender130 with live feed to a colour monitor in the cab. Doesn't record, but gives wide field of vision at the rear. (Makes hooking up to a trailer easy as well!) Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  25. Ditch it. Get a td5 with a JE Engineering stage 1 tune = 175 bhp & 395 NM....... Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
