  1. I've got air springs on my Defender 130. Great addition - lower air pressure when the tipper is empty, pump the pressure when loaded or towing heavy trailers.
  2. If there's only 2 of you - have a Defender. Nothing can touch it off-road - except a pinzauger, unimog or tank! Tax wise it's classed as a dual purpose vehicle so even on a 130, you'll pay just £215 a year. Cheap to repair - lots of LR specialist around, who've been working on them since the 60's (foleysv.com for example) Mines done 165k and only just feels broken in.
  3. KMR Engineering in Suffolk made the tipper for my 130 - £2400 & it came with tie down rings on the deck. Talk to Paul.
  4. The sprinter tipper would be a good alternative. It's got diff locks in both axles. Not as good off-road as a defender 130 - but German build quality..
  5. I'm not open to the public. All firewood delivered. Based on a working farm - very suspicious of strangers...
  6. Starter motor - same thing happened to me. Luckily when it failed I was in walking distance to Foley land Rovers....
  7. Did you all see this....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-29066284 Sound argument for a roll age....
  8. I remember climbing with Midland Tree Surgeons in the early 90's using a Stihl 009 with a 12" bar - great top/rear handled combo... Had longer hair than is safe.. Got paid £150 for a 6 day week.....
  9. Got bitten by the same crew in 2006 purporting to producing community newsletter for Herts Fire Service - even sent hard copy proof. Paid, got nothing. Then a year later demands for more money from a different company with same trading address. Replied with a letter saying in hands of lawyer and they ran away. Called themselves "Community Initiatives"
  10. Depends where you are. Regional variations will apply. 2x men, truck and chipper @ £500 + VAT here Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case

  12. Mornings Logs, The hassle is putting together the biomass manual - it just takes time and patience. WoodSure send you a template manual which you can tweek to suit your needs. Once the manual is submitted, WoodSure arrange the audit - I was audited by Bill Massey from HETAS. The auditors are not out to trick you, just make sure you have processes in place that can be checked. He carried out pin meter moisture content check onsite and took samples of the two sizes of logs that we sell with him to carry out oven dry moisture content checks, which are part of the audit. (Our barn dried firewood pin checked at 16 & 18%, the oven dry check in a lab showed 12 & 14%. If you want to know more, please don't hesitate to drop me an email ([email protected]) or give me a call: 07840826268. Matt Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case

  18. I bought a Berghaus Alpine Extreme Made with Taslan Goretex in 1983. I've still got it and it's never leaked, it has a hood that accommodates a climbing helmet. Best £144 spent! Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  19. Saw the mulag being demo'd. It needs a U500, the rear flails are 2.4m & hydraulically driven and the rear mount sits on a carriage that the Mog backs under. It has it's only N16 high flow hydraulic system. Laser guided to avoid obstacles. Front flail is PTO & 2m. As a complete rig from memory, the Mulag cost about £75000 + the cost of an agric spec U500 with all the extras at about..... £180000........ Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
  20. This time of year this is my only defence to wasps & hornets...... Sent from my iPad protected by bombproof Lifeproof Case
