  1. i'm in the market for a new pair of leggings. defo going to be getting a pair of these after reading this thread
  2. who cares about payload. i know for sure that a double cab long bed transit can hold loads more chip. but no good for me as i need 4 wheel drive so will be on the look out for a pick up to convert. if i need to carry more chip i will take the tractor and trailer
  3. O and I think they are a substitute for common sense. If you know what your doinv then you will not gain much from the ticket. For an employer an idiot with a ticket is fine as he has proof of adequate training
  4. The trouble is that, with out my cs39, my insurance company wont insure ne for climbing. It is hard for me to get your foot in the door unless you have, at least, your nvq level 3 or even better a masters in wiping ya ass. I had been climbing, brushcutting, tractor driving and using loo roll proficiently before I took my nptc tests. Speculate to accumulate.

    what 4x4

I was lucky with my fourtrak. I purchased it from a friend who had literally taken the body of the chassis to get at every little bit of rust. So apart from one rear wheel arch that is scabbing up it is in a1 condition. Not bad for a 15 year old truck that has been worked all its life

    what 4x4

I am in a similar position to the original poster. I currently have a diahatsu fourtrak which is economical, tows well ( fuel pump tweaked), super reliable and fairly good off road. I was thinking, and still might do, of getting a tipping trailer. But the problen comes when you need to do some chipping. Ideal world would be l200 club cab tipper or similar cab set up.
  7. As title I am based in west somerset and looking for a chipper to hire with out operator preferably. Thanks mark
  8. looks brilliant. i would have thought a set up like this would suit a lot of people, myself included.
  9. i have a new style card in my wallet. the ink has mostly come off now and that is less than a year ago since i did my last assessment
  10. Although the otter box offered good protection from screen breaks i was dissapointed when i removed the case to find that paint on the phone was all pitted!
  11. seems to be a bit of a white wash here. had an otter box on my blackberry but the dirt used to get in side and scratch it so i binned the otter and stuck with the leather pouch. hasn't really gained any scratches since and still hasn't broken!
  12. hi all. looking at getting a new phone as my contract is up soon. i have always been a blackberry man but the z10 doesnt seem to be getting great reviews (anybody got one?) my wife has just got a nokia lumia 925 which seemingly does not get signal anywhere! and it slipped out of her pocket and the screen broke can anyone recomend a smart phone??
  13. yeah its waterproof for the first month and then not so much there after! good for ground work, sweaty for climbing. had a few harkie items and will never buy harkie again. a pair of boots only lasted 6 months
  14. looks freekin rad. loving the flopy mowers. but as said before i am not sure how it will hold up in the uk. although i am sure it would have its uses.
  15. is anyone familiar with dunkery up on exmoor? well i managed to cycle up there today as part of a 45k ride. only recently started cycling, on my old racer.
  16. i think only you can answer this. personally i would go for a mk2 g60. happy days!!
  17. my contract is ending soon. i have always been a blackberry man up untill now, but annoyed with the small screen on the internet. blackberry has now bought out the z10 but the reviews don't look great. my wife has just got the nokia lumia 925 which is good but it doesnt seem to get signal anywhere and the battery life is pants!! i after a tough smart phone (hence i was steering towards the xperia z) but if the screen breaks just by looking at it i will steer clear. not keen on the i phone so whats left.. anyone else got a new smart phone??
  18. have the rope threaded though the branch to be lowered (so that the half way point of the rope is at the branch.) have both ends running up through a biner and sling and down to a climbing style belay device. when the branch is on the deck you just pull one end back up and you are ready to rock and roll!!
  19. To someone who is moaning about hardtimes. You have to play with the cards that you have been delt... I suggest you work on your poker face
  20. Could be close I'l have a go. If I use my birds reliant rialto (cheap on fuel) I should be able to make it worth while I would have a look and explain why it would cost money, unless it was one of those trees that splits it self into logs and walks its way in to the back of my truck!
  21. If your struglging to find them I would take matey up on the offer of the template and go to an engineering firm.
  22. Hello, I have been using blackberrys for the last couple of years and find them to be robust and great for business (invoicing and emails etc). A couple of things that I am getting tired of are the small screen for internet use and the lack of a 'sat nav' style mapping system. Obviously the z10 is touch screen so the screen is bigger, but what is the mapping like. I do not own a stand alone sat nav so rely on my phone for directions. Any feed back would be much appretiated. Cheers mark
  23. yeah i only have one set of saws (no spare top handle etc). i cant afford to repair anything that 'mates' break and can't fix. if a good friend wants to borrow a saw i just offer to do the job for them.
  24. my mate used to have a rascal tipper if he pulled into a downhil driveway he couldnt reverse off. too light on the back end!!
  25. i think you will find that it is the navara (not the older d22) that has the engine problems. they seem to pop a con rod out the side of the block which renders the engine useless! i am after a pick up with the extra bit of cab. hilux dont seemingly do an older extra cab and rangers are juicy so its a wanky l200 or d22 for me
