  1. hello i need someBody for a days work in south somerset. nothing too tasking. could lead on to more work. i will Be traveling down from taunton direction. can meet on route or on site. if you interested please call (zer0) 7969 023 (1) 82
  2. i burn a large wheel barrow load of logs a day. so probably just under a cube a week i would of thought. heating a 2 bed cottage and the burner (woodwarm= excellent) in the kitchen does the hot water. used to have a real old wood burner in the living room that was brill, would heat the whole house. landlord replaced it with a small stovax and it is pants, the heat doesnt seem to leave the room. o and there is no central heating. was a bugger last year when we had all the snow.. water froze, couldn't use the log burner in living room as it was leaking smoke into next doors. couldnt use one in the kitchen as we had no water so didnt want to damage it as it has a back boiler. made for a cold and miserable couple of weeks.
  3. i am glad to see that somebody is taking this issue seriously. You srt guys are a bunch of idiots!!! you would never catch me using a chainsaw during srt because the dangers are double that of drt!!! i also only use cambium savers made with lead rings, just watch the friction!!
  4. i have worked for hi-line. they can be good at putting you through tickets and training. they where not so good when it came to me because i never went to the yard and didnt see the managers very often, i didnt get half the stuff i needed.. was working for a year before i had my ua1 (my team was based in taunton). there seems to be no pay scale.. you start off on what ever you can blag in the interview... you can have a real noddy on 3 quid an hour more. They do have a private team working for private clients and on the council contracts but 95% of there work is line clearance. to sum it up. The work is not to tasking, the pay was quite good (compared to other employers i had) and they supply decent ppe (you supply your saws and chains) and guaranteed work.
  5. hi there. basically i will be using a brushcutter with a bramble head. need a chap/ chapette (for a day) to fork the arrisings on to a fire (which is next to the scrub). job is near somerton and i am based nr taunton. can meet on route or on site. if your interested please pm me. or email [email protected]
  6. one chance or 5. a young chap i used to work with had been caught on the 11kv a good few times... he definatly is not right in the head. not sure if this is prior to the electric shocks or a result of!!
  7. i need a new waterproof jacket and was considering a cut and climb.. i also do a lot of kayaking and have a cags that have latex seals on the wrists and neck- definatly no water getting in there!!! but they are exspensive and i dont think it would fair up to well with the sharp trees.

I am not one for anything too flash. I would settle for a mk 2 golf 8v big bumper gti. Clean with a race preped engine and standard body. So I could come up against the cobra and leave it standing! Used to have one, modded cam, was a real rocket, handled well and was fairley straight..... swapped it for a rusty ol transit
  16. A friend of mine has a company called exmoor adventures. He does lots of stag and hen doos. Coastering, kayaking, archery, climbing you name it he does it. Slick opperator. And great guy. Search on google for him dan french exmoor adventures:D
  17. looks like a contender to the 130 tipper! i recon if you stripped the roof box and did a few odds an sods on it it could look half decent. currently it does not give of the right sort of vibes for me.
  18. i sold a 440 on ebay that was running fine. get a call saying it he had used it once and then it died. he sent it back. not only was the pot and piston scored (still fired up thou when i tried it) it looked like he had been using it to cut breeze blocks. the 90% chain was nearly totaled. it took a whole lot of sharpening to bring it back. i took the bar and chain off and sold it as spares and repairs and got the same money for it. i prurchased a stihl blower ( ruff looking and covered in glue and paint). turned out to be a fairley new one and was initially happy with it untill i fired it up. the sound from the engine was just like knackared dry bearings crying. sounded terrible. took it to my local dealer who gave it one pull and said it was a ticking time bomb. opened up a case, seller said it was fine and that i had broken it refusing to refund. when they eventually agreed to take it back they complained to ebay saying that it was not broken. total d!£k head and to top it off i gave them negative feed back they then contacted saying that i had to change it or they were going to start some more crap up on ebay. fingers burnt at both ends
  19. i have had haix boots for pretty much all the time in this trade. i currently have the blue ridge. they where really comfortable but now, just coming up to a year in, the lining in the toe cap- on both boots- has collapesd meaning i have lumps squeezing my feet. hugely uncomfortable. Plenty of life left in the boots so a little peeved!
  20. yeah hopefully some one else is in a worse state than me. i suppose its a good way to kick off the season!!
  21. i was going to say. i et there is some damp ones at the pile!! but then again they probalbly dont get the damp weather that persists these parts.
  22. whats the chances of being able to complete a 60 mile cycle race with only 2 months training? on an old bike. needs a heap of work that i doubt it will get!! (same could be said for owner)
  23. Anyone entering these races this year. Exmoor Beast Cycle Challenge - Somerset Exmoor Beauty Cycle Challenge - Somerset I reckon i may sign up, doesnt give me long to train thou. Not been on the bike hardley at all since i left school and the bike i got is an older one (late 80's tourer). as long as i am not last i suppose
