    Ticks!

yeas i would not burn or squeeze them as this makes them spew up, not so good. grab at head and turn anti clockwise, they will unscrew. my dog is a tick magnet! had 12 off him the other day.
  2. I would check that the clutch drum and shaft, checking that they are straight and smooth. Had my plastic bearing on my saw for over a year with no problems.
  3. i got a pair of the stihl easy- rips at the moment. they are only a couple of months old so i think i am going to patch them up and stick them on ebay and purchase a different pair of trousers. is any one using the engleburt strauss ones??
  4. you cant get (or are fasing out) the old genral grabber at2 anymore. they have changed the tread pattern. as said before the bfg's last.
  5. not exactly epic man.
  6. do the springs deteriorate? or is it that if they are still in one piece they are still good. seem to be getting vibrations seemingly more than when i first got it- i think
  7. yeah, there is a reason that it has been drained out of ya car! full of particals and it is so messy!! and for the people saying 'well thats how we used to do it' there is a lot of things we used to do but we have evolved and we know things now that we didnt know then. bit like the chap i used to work for on exmoor who was suppling us with hydraulic oil for use as chain oil, glad it was his saw and not mine!!!
  8. my fs400 is 42cc (i think) and is beastly with a shreading bramble type blade!! my only problem is i damn near break a cup everytime i go out- not my tea cup, that would be a disaster
  9. yeah it was the gaer head i was on about. sounds complicated allready!!
  10. in my opinion you should just get another saw sent up. i find that you get slow pick up with anything but a 12" bar.
  11. just a quick one O wise ones. i have need to remove the current grease from the gearbox on my fs400, has been filled with red fluid grease. makes some dodgey noises untill it has warmed up a bit.
  12. yeah they fetch good money
  13. as i understand it (and i might be wrong) the 4x4 system is kind of like a limited slip centre diff style thing so it wiats until your stuck before the four wheel drive kicks in. unlike the vit which is 4x4 when u put it in 4x4 and a damn sight classyer

    love it

I have just been to honiton (from the brendon hills) to pick up an electric fencer. I went for a short stretch, less then a mile, on the A303 when I saw a sign saying cider next layby. I passed the entrance to said layby and layed my eyes on ( what can only be described as) a burger van style cider wagon selling trikys cider. I chucked the anchors out and pulled in the exit side of the layby. I have had trickys before at the blackdown beer festival, rocket fuel. A couple of wicked old dudes with stonking great beards! They where selling bottles, half gallon cans or they would fill your vessel. They said it was amazing the amount of people that had pulled in and had been on it all day and where stopping for a top up. The old boy also said ' well that's how we used to do it, just feel a bit shifty doing it these days'. Any how I parted with some cash and had a lively drive home. Proper job you
  16. i have been using these 'new' caps for about 6 years now. i think you will find that all you have to do is pull on the tab before you close it. If the cap comes out you have not done it up correctly. if it does not come out you have done it up correctly. SIMPLES i have had two fails when i first started out but using the above technique i have not had any problems since.
  17. I run an 18 on my 66 but only for when I want to bomb through some timber. Not much use in smaller stuff. I try and get away with the smallest saw I can for the job, saves ya back.
  18. Yeah I wouldn't buy such a pricey item blind. I would go and see it and take some one that knows about tractors. There is so much to go wrong on one and the costs soon mount up. A friend had a howler of a tractor turn up that he had bough bind from a tractor dealer up contry. 'Ready for work'. Turned up with no battery or starter. No link arms, had a 20 litre drun and bit of hose where the fuel tank should have been. Finger burned there. There are deals to be had but just be carefull. If it sounds to good to be true then, 9 time out of ten, it is!
  19. You gotta start somewhere. I am after a blower and long reach hedge trimmers. Even second hand stihl is out of my price range so I think I am going to have to start off with tanaka and hopefully by time it is dead I can afford echo or husky (not too keen on chinese stihl)
  20. i a friend is looking to sell his 2101xp any idea of what it is worth
  21. i have never borrowed any money, no credit/ store cards/ loans etc, and prefer to try and work my way up. i would love to have a nice tipper and chipper, that works and looks clean and tidy, but i will struggle on till i can afford a second hand van and chipper.
  22. was pretty poo- well with my computer any way. i had the music playing but probably had about 6 different stills then then the red wing logo showed up and that was it. my computer is painfully slow i did think of a way of speeding it up but wife said it would make a mess!!
  23. this is where a set of the utility style fiberglass poles with a hook head come in very handy!!!
  24. How to make love! Ingredients- 4 laughing eyes, 4 well shaped legs, 4 loving arms, 2 firm milk containers, 2 nuts, 1 mixing bowl, 1 firm banana. Instructions- 1. Look into laughing eyes 2. Spread well shaped legs with loving arms 3. Squeeze & massage milk containers very gently 4. Gently add firm banana to mixing bowl working in an out until well creamed 5. As heat rises plunge banana deep into mixing bowl and cover with nuts, leave to soak, preferably not over night 6. The cake is done when banana is soft, if banana doesn't soften repeat steps 3-5 or change mixing bowls! Notes - 1. If you are in an unfamiliar kitchen, wash utensils carefully before and after use! 2. Do not lick mixing bowl after use! And finally. 3. If cake rises, leave town!!
  25. she looked fine from where i was looking
