    Unfortunately we haven't got the manufacturers instructions:blushing: It's a Butterfly- Is it Komet? I'll see if they put them up on the net. I guess if it passes LOLER then it must be OK.

    Am I correct in thinking a harness should be retired after 5 years. We've got one coming up to that and it is still in good nick and seems wasteful to retire/destroy.

    Nice find I'm into Alabama 3 at the minute Revolver Soul album is great with Shane McGowan on one of the tracks. Been around for years but as usual I find them late.

    Theres a guy down the rugby club who wrote the Shake and Vac jingle. Do the shake and vac and put the freshness back in your carpet. It was a bit cult at the time. Can't now see why.

    My take on this although I haven't read all the posts is. To store a few tools and keep wood dry would need minimal building and a cover. Just do it and see what happens. A small woodland may need a tractor- would you store one even in a steel framed building- Gypos will find it. I was looking at 4 acres recently but the security of the wood was minimal and it was a long way from houses= good & bad. I can't see any building on woodland away from houses being anything other than a worry security wise. How can you hide it. Eventually someone will come across it and then who knows.

    That looks good oiled and also not oiled which I think is unusual. Nice use of bone oak. The whole thing is easy on the eye:thumbup1:

    I don't see targets as simply obstacles in the drop zone I see targets as more a reason to do work to a tree- such as that tree needs to go as it is diseased and there are targets. (high value assets or roads/ school/ lots of people passing under) If there arn't 'targets' then it is often OK to do nothing. The tree hits the target then you lose.

    Just back from Budapest where I was visiting an old friend. Beautiful city. 28 degrees in the sun. Sounds like the political situation is bad though- half a million have left for pastures new. You'll probably meet one soon.

    In the late 70's we had a few problems in the UK We had no mobile phones. Computers were basic 1mb hard drive. Cars were troublesome. Most blokes knew what plastic padding was. Central heating was only just taking off as combi boilers became easier to use. Tescos was the equivalent of Lidl. We still had vinyl as CD's hadn't taken off. Foreign travel was not widespread. Theme parks were poor. Trees were climbed with baler twine support Did Maggie change all this. Possibly but who can really say. Was it attitudes or technology? Seems the rest of the world has changed too and that can't be down to her alone. Maggie hurt quite a few people who had been spoilt and that made her hated. Can't say I loved her but I had to admire her balls. What would she do about todays benefit work shysters. Eventually everyone gets their comeuppance.

    so are there now too many tree surgeons? Has anything changed in 2 years I see the business often as an extension to landscape firms (as it has been with us, in fact now comprising a third of our business) who have contacts with large gardens/companies and with a bit of effort/investment can do their own tree work as an add-on service. No different to general builders I guess.

    When google maps first came out I remember there was a buy option upgrade - does anyone on here use it and how much better is it. I'm wondering whether google are looking to make money from the basic- after all, it is a fantastic facility
