1. And we call it rip off Britain!!
 2. Just to say- most everything looks dated even log cabins pick up styling cues from the moment. Look at the typical 30's 70's 80's 90's estates/ properties. They all have tell tale signs. Is there a style that is forever young. Rover- I'm guessing the style of house you show is recent and know you are going to say 20's.
 3. Surely you don't need a cert for this. Just common sense/ a form to fill in/ bit of patience and care
 4. They probably wanted it in the corner of their property. Also didn't want leaf debris falling on it. I'm sure they'll plant another tree elsewhere. As to being only for the rich, theres more solar on council and relatively poor homes round here. Think there was some sort of offer.Free electricity if the company get the grant. Well, it's better than nothing. No risk/ no reward.
 5. Always amazes me the number of people in Dover and Folkestone who don't have passports Rich. Roughly £7 a year plus a tesco clubcard eurotunnel trip or footie to calais or boulogne. Well worth it. Probably cost you as much as getting as far as Stonehenge on your Cornwall trip. The French do it differently and it is obvious from even that 22 mile trip. Admitted the duty free thing doesn't work as well as it used to though the P&O boats do a roaring trade so there must be some savings. They certainly selling a lot of beer to the Aussies this week.
 6. Travel and experience. Broadens your horizons. Stops you getting too self centred maybe. I don't know. maybe it's just in us to travel. Reach for the stars sort of thing cos if you stay where you are, eventually you go backwards. Funny how 2 weeks of sun changes the way we see our country.
 7. We used one a few years ago. Nice and quiet and easy start but I would fit the flexipipe before parting with your cash thinking why hasn't the person selling done that. Good for grass cuttings and dry leaves. Struggled with the Autumn from memory. Oh yes- and blue looks out of place on a truck full of orange:001_smile:
 8. It's great on the commercial contracts but private clients start to bother that you are not needed. I always say that if it was a wet summer we would be working twice as hard so its swings and roundabouts. Charge them anyway and put dry stripes on the lawn. You'll need the money in the bank for a rainy day.
 9. Remember the rule Never judge a test match by the first innings. Jimmy Anderson looked quite steely last night- he's remembering every ball so he can return with interest.
 10. what about if you have a large paddling pool- the shoot in water thing where bullets don't travel that far unlike private ryan opening scenes.
 11. At the moment theres 100% relief on RV of up to £6000. This won't last. Thats about 80sq.m of building used as a workshop. Not sure how argicultural rules apply though- seems farmers get away with a lot. Over £6000 is 2% reduction for every £120 under £12000RV Note- if there was no relief you would pay around 46pence per £1 RV.per annum. Best keep your heads down. It's a protection racket.
 12. yes- we got a truck hit a few years ago. Spotted the sheepish golfer and had a chat. Needless to say he paid up. He was embarrassed more than anything.
 13. He did what a girl used to do at my primary school. Can still remember her name- infamy
 14. The question is really- at what employed rate does it become better to go solo. Say you're on £450 a week employed. Do you think 3 days at £150 would be better or worse. Well, thats the gamble. If you can get 4 or 5 days solo then it's better though you then have to find holidays and kit. Hmm.. That gives you £300 to cover the extras including the inevitable downtime in winter and any health issues. I'm guessing you're not on £450 a week. Have you tried asking your boss for more money- may be easier in the long run.
 15. I agree We most definately are not in recession though often acting like we are (giving exemplary customer service). We're the busiest we've been for 10 years.
 16. I'm looking at 2 robinias locally that we planted 10-15 odd years ago. Both on clay soil. Haven't shown much growth this year. I fear they are dying. It's either prolonged cold or prolonged wet and of the two, I'd favour the prolonged wet. Paulonias locally haven't shown any signs of damage though these are on lighter soils.

Hi Mark

I've spoken with the people and they are happy. I've just got to get the address off one of my drivers as I can't remember it.

 18. How many times have I been beaten on price only to see the job afterwards and see a 'bad' job. Eventually people learn. I'm prepared to wait.

Hi Rich

Julian Drion

01303 850077

Try and get him as it's he who is the miracle worker- Whenever the lads have back issues, I send them his way and fantastic results. Don't delay- go today if he can fit you in. Forget the drugs. All they do is mask the pain.

I once treated a friend who wanted to run a half marathon. He was crocked. He ran the marathon 2 days later.

 20. I've been on codeine- pretty halucinogenic. When that happens the hospitals put you on tramadol and paracetamol. My advice would be osteopath. Try Julian Drion at the Family Wellness Centre Sandgate- he may well fix you in one. He's helped quite a few I know.
 21. True they love to tell you you're one of six. They think that makes you sharpen your pencil. In truth- it probably means they only get 2 or 3 prices.
 22. As ever the right price is the best price you can get. And if that isn't enough, try another career
 23. Just done the right thing and checked H&S website 3 years from date of manufacture guys so we're pretty much needing to buy fresh kit regularly.
 24. I've often seen this as an odd one. But you tend to find hard hats are usually sold on fast turn around and for H&S the date stamp generally means 4-5 years of use. Any other way would allow unscrupulous employers to keep staff in much older hats. Our hats don't last 5 years anyway. Generally get too tatty.
 25. Hmmm... not sure on that.wouldn't that be a pointless date stamp.
