  1. Thats exactly what I thought. Or someone jealous with a heavy boot (or hammer)
  2. This has to be the shortest 'stove' summer Last lit beginning of June. Relit about 2 weeks ago- a one off. Thats not much more than 3 months without a lit stove.
  3. we have 2 park pro's. Used by us as contractors, we find a lot of breakdown issues although it has to be said they are used a lot and on pretty rough terrain. The 4wd facility means you can drive straight down a 45 degree slope and the machine doesn't run away even when wet. Mulching is very good and the articulation is superb. I just wish we could get the spare parts quicker. Replacement costs are about 8 grand from memory so it's not a domestic option unless you are rich. Tell you what, I am selling one of ours to buy new if you are interested PM me.
  4. spoke with stihl at Saltex and I think they said it was a dodgy run of clutch drums that were not perfect setting up vibrations and causing the issues.
  5. depends on your attitude to debt. My biggest mistake in business was not using finance at an early stage. I ended up with knackered kit that couldn't do the job and wasn't a good advertisement.
  6. 362 stihl is a good saw period
  7. I quit my regular well paid job with one weeks notice and had no work in the pipeline- 30 years later I'm still here. Never look back. Hunger feeds the worker to make it happen. Don't expect!!
  8. You need the ticket I'm afraid- If you just set up signs and there is an accident you will not be insured as I understand it even if you set them up right. It's a hard world.
  9. Try Mick Stockbridge (on here) he's in Rainham I seem to remember.
  10. I wouldn't say nice to drive The gearing is low and it could do with 7 gears. at 50 in 5th it sounds like it could do with an upshift hence 24mpg Clutch is hard to keep your feet off in boots so beware Exhaust manifold cracked on ours- 4 year old last week- £700 to fix Oh and you will break wing mirrors at £50 a throw. Otherwise- good little vehicle
  11. problem now solved we changed the battery- well it was 8 years old and it just died- no warning. thanks for all your suggestions and thanks to timberwolf for responding. it had plenty of volts but no current. Modern batteries eh!
  12. print that stupid wood poem and put FALSE across it:biggrin:
  13. Great idea:confused1: Get in self employed climbers and give them old kit which then breaks and you get them to pay for replacement. Bound to leave a bad taste. If he was using it wrong or dropped it then maybe 50/50 but you have to ask who really benefits from 'self employed' staff. Long term, it's a tax & PAYE fiddle. Whoever is giving him work must take the downside.
  14. Lets do a poll How many times have you shown yours. For me it's once in 18 years.
  15. why complain this is what you want to see- sets a new benchmark which you can rise to
  16. In the past I spent many happy hours applying Arbrex It tended to get on your clothes. Customer was always right. Even when they were wrong. Not used it for 25years. Isn't there a spray available to assist mother nature? seem to remember encourages beneficials or something. I'm so rusty.
  17. When the filter blocks, you get a turning starter and sometimes then a few minutes of chipping which gradually ends up being none. The starter still will turn I seem to remember. This is a situation where we hear no starter action just fuel filter on 1. After 1 there is no sound or light.
  18. On newer chippers they have 3 lights on the engine management and before starting (2 re and 1 green)the green light shows. With ours 2005 we have 4 lights (3 red and 1 green)and none shine when turning to 2 We're now thinking engine management board and will check with a newer one this weekend. BTW- injector solenoid OK
  19. Thanks for all the suggestions It's not battery nor starter - it's definately the clicking from the fuel pump. Cheers for the tip- I've used that hammer trick before on many things:001_rolleyes: I'm talking with the fitter friend later and hopefully he'll have some solution. Will let you know
  20. Bad end to the day yesterday. Stopped the 150 and it wouldn't restart. All we get is the clicking from the fuel pump. No starter action and no light on the ignition. Have taken off the injector solenoid to check today but not hopeful. Has anyone else had similar issues and is there an easy fix. Thanks in advance
  21. Trying to restart the 150 at the end of the day yesterday and all we get is the clicking from the fuel pump. No light on the ignition and no starter motor action. We've put the meter across the ignition and all seems OK The flashing lights don't mean anything to me and the operators manual doesn't help. We've taken off the injector solenoid to check it out on another machine today but not hopeful whether it is this. Funny how motors go from 100% to nil in a key turn. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and is there a simple fix. Thanks in advance.
