1. Got mine. Had it since they came about- don't know whether we really need it but it's easier to just show it if asked rather than have to argue. Mind you- they hardly ever check. Once in 15 years. Never really saw the point because dids just don't bother. If they did then would that make everything rosey? Just don't get it- ***** with waste on + no ticket= illegal ***** with waste on + ticket= legal. It's still going in some farmers gateway.
2. As a percentage of value that must be about 25% Thats one hell of a tax on cordwood for fuel.
3. I'm most embarrassed by forgetting plant names when with customers. Sometimes it's like they are instant and I can pluck whatever I want from my knowledge. Other times I just forget and as usual then it's not possible to remember until you go onto a different subject and suddenly up pops the name you had forgotten. It's embarrasing because, really they don't know you and it just feels like you are lost. The more you try and remember the less it helps. There must be something in this. Try that Geoff.
4. It's not my normal business Jon but I just chopped about 4 cube sycamore by hand and am feeling sh....d. Good luck if you make money, great if you enjoy it. Good to see you all doing well with this crap weather. Every cloud and all that:thumbup1:
5. He's just having a joke Jon. I thought it was funny- have to say.
6. Chopping logs is effing hard work Does anyone make any real money?
7. Sounds good but it would have to be galvanised at least and probably 6mm to prevent it twisting when the posts rot 10 years down the line. Would make fitting the panels and arris rails harder to get a sweet fit. Other than that, try Dragons Den. We all know wood from ground to fence top is the best look for a fence.

Hi Rich

Couldn't work that one out as early on was going sound. Did you have a difficult phone call or something. Oh well, the lads got it all done this morning. I judge climbers by their all round performance, not just 'one off' jobs so we're still cool. Still waiting for Bechenham/Bromley work to be allowed so we'll speak soon- closer for you though not for us- oh well- joys of contracting.

9. Cheers fellas- Chaps and shorts the order of the summer then- fingers crossed. I don't like them myself but Pete does. We're going to do a chainsaw test on his old ones with ketchup sachets /leg of pork for dramatic effect. Will video and post if it turns out good.
10. Does anyone know whether chainsaw chaps for ground work are legal/ ethical/whatever. Sometimes when doing occasional machine work it's nice to be able to pull a pair on over your work trousers rather than wearing cs trousers all day or finding somewhere to disrobe. Thinking SUMMER Ha..
11. How do you get the +7cm's. FRJones just seem to have L XL XXL type sizes. I need to get a pair for a 6ft 4 climber who got through his first pair of ill fittings in about 2 minutes
12. He let her down, he let you down. You didn't approach her to do the work, she approached you. The job needs doing. If you worry too much you may lose it to someone else who doesn't know the history. The guy you were originally working for is likely had some problem and it's more than a lost phone. To step in now wouldn't be heartless. By the way, don't you know where he lives so you could go round and see? Not much else you could do though and waiting isn't one of those things.
13. Don't hold your breath- Husky themselves are pretty harsh when it comes to issues in my experience
14. He is just rubbish and a personality bypass to boot
15. thats not bad considering recent form
16. didn't we do quite well in 70 although everybody expected us to win again
17. bit balmy down here- about 1 degrees and no snow for a change the weather repays its debts
18. english football never going to work as the premiership discourages english participation. Just my view, I'm not mad keen on footy but I am passionate about england. Shame we can't have limits to numbers of foreigners in premiership teams- you'll tell me now we have.
19. why would you trust a log seller My parents had some real bad experiences. However good/nice you are, theres always another 5 nearby who arn't. Truth
20. It says 10/30 in the manual. Personally I think it's better to get any oil in rather than let it get low and semi synthetic ticks all the boxes.
21. do you think a feral pigeon nest in an urban garden could be considered a danger to health. I'm thinking droppings maybe. I'm quite happy to comply with nesting codes but would like to have a get out of jail card should the need arise. This trying to get round things sounds terrible I know but if it were rats then there would be no objection raised. I'm wondering how bad it could possibly be to destroy the magpie nests. They are basically tree thugs. I do love birds but nature has a way of allowing the fittest to survive and maybe we need to redress the balance to encourage diversity.
