  1. I've kind of read that but must be having a blonde moment Does that mean you can destroy the nests of nesting pigeons/doves
  2. we're occasionally round that way. Whats the deal
  3. can you not attach wooden spurs- those supplied by Jacksons will last 25 years
  4. all the cutting around those tracks must have tried your patience:001_smile:
  5. Would the public know what stump grinding was. Maybe he just wanted you to put something like 'flying debris 10m'
  6. strange thread I've read about 3 pages all about the same regarding non qualification. That I guess was the original thread. Please don't think all arbs are not qualified. I agree university of life and all that but I've found qualified/trained guys to be the most rounded in their knowledge. Friend of mine is a nurse and she says it's always obvious when she visits nursing homes where the nurses aren't trained. Thats scary. There are some homes out there with untrained nurses. Which one would you want looking after you. BTW Tony- I think you are getting qualified if only in the professional development side of things. My own personal experience is that a trained/qualified workforce is best. Maybe thats just for my peace of mind:001_smile: All you guys who have become successful without quals. Good luck to you. How much better could you have been with training at the outset.
  7. Never been able to get multiple less than individual. Aviva promised it but then said not for commercial It's a pain Always wondered what happened if one of the vehicles had a prang/claim. Would that have impacted on the whole policy. Could be a bad thing. e vans sounds ludicrously cheap. Might give them a go.
  8. You're an extreemist. Healthy followed by totally NOT. Bit like me then 10 portions of veg followed by 10 portions of Peroni.
  9. It could be the wood- we recently had some hardwood untreated bollards that really stank when cut.
  10. HeHe Agreed- you can spend mucho time going into detail about what needs doing only to find they take that detail and give it to someone else who offers a cheaper price. That's across the board. My advice is- don't go into too much detail. Oh - and if they use someone else, kidnap their dog:thumbup1:
  11. Clutch spring/ needle bearings even on the second one that the dealer (on here) said would be OK. It's done it for me with this saw. Nearly just bought a third but I'm going Husky- just to try out the opposition. Having said that- the 261 once fixed seems fine- just wish they'd fixed it before they sent it out.
  12. I don't really care that much. It's whats under the surface that matters.
  13. Just to bring balance to this thread- everyone consider how you would/ have reacted when people have gone bankrupt on you. Meaning often that you get nowt.
  14. We've had exactly the same issue almost from day one. The second one was not so bad How is this Stein any different from the last (other than the pink)
  15. yeah- then make your own mind up. too many people knowing nothing but telling all else what they should buy. Stop it. I've made more bad decisions based on others view than my own.
  16. what was your most annoyed rant to them
  17. I love the idea of knocking someones door, disturbing them and then apologising for the tree work they may be able to hear. I'd want to scream:001_tongue:
  18. We did flyers 10 years ago during a quiet spell Think we got 1 job £400 and 1 job £10000. out of about 500 flyers all hand delivered. We picked our areas and had a competition for who got the best result. Some chose country areas= no results some chose town= both results. Not enough conversion there to say what works or what doesn't.
  19. They just don't think it can apply to them. I wonder if different signage would work. Under men at work Maybe- Rabid dogs loose Mad cow disease control area Maybe, just maybe people don't think trees can be dangerous- such nice things dear. What about Inland revenue questionaire ahead.
  20. depends what your fire is. I had comments from someone I cut for that recently felled ash did not burn well on an open fire. It burns like hell on my log burners. Probably same comments apply to H C.- never burnt it myself but everything else burns so ' why not'?
  21. Ahhhh.... the good old 715's. Agreed- on £16 k self employed you won't pay tax Agreed- you sound employed agreed- put your rate up man.
  22. I though we agreed winching kit needs PUWER and it best to LOLER it as easier. Did I read it wrong?
  23. I would get the landscaping job included in the grinding work. Don't let them break up the work as you'll slip up and lose it. You've heard of dangling carrots:001_rolleyes:
