  1. Ecover dish washing fluid. (useful in screen wash and cleaning vehicles)
  2. I would process all the Pine into kindling sacks and then advertise in the local area as being great for starting "Oak" log fires. We have done that with Larch due to customers that wanted to burn certain wood.
  3. Checked and it's the large size but still welcome to have it. (was found floating in a river)
  4. I have friends in the Police dog units and one said is the case and RSPCA would also do the person. I used to take all the shepherds when puppies to training and the person would give much verbal abuse to people who turned up without one on. (Called them D*******S) It's also good common sense is it not? (instead risking an accident from distraction and hurting the dog? These cost less than a good leather lead and are a sound investment.
  5. What the nice WPC said was three legal methods to have dogs restrained in a vehicle and good to see a sensible person instead of some of the people who could not care less. 1. In an approved transport box like the Police/RSPCA/Security Firms use. 2. Behind an approved grill in an estate type vehicle. 3. Wearing a dog harness which is connected to normal seat belts when on seats. A local lad used to move his two sheep dogs in the open back of a Toyota Hilux but one fell out and was run over from a following bus. Needless to state he was distressed and also taken to court. It's often man's and woman's best friend so not much hassle to spend a few pounds on a harness instead of splattered on the inside of the windscreen if emergency braking.
  6. When doing log and charcoal on site into sacks then we do as little risk. On felling sites then not at all sensible as enough distractions already to deal with. Seems pointless to take a dog and leave in a closed vehicle all the work time and running around loose is an accident waiting to happen. When stopped last week in a tax disc check the Policewomen said she would have given us a fine and licence marks if the dog had not been wearing an approved seat belt harness as all dogs inside on seats now have to use them. (thank goodness we had one) She was confused as LHD vehicle and dog was in the normal driving position.
  7. Is the woodchip being removed from site? Natural England do have some odd conditions some times on SSSI's
  8. Mice chew plastic due to taste and on chainsaws when using Bio-Oils. Like to damage rubber parts/oil caps/air filters/chain guard on the saws. I keep inside steel box now.
  9. Motor Manual thinning in a Spruce woodland full of midges. Felling tree lengths in the mountains for helicopter extraction.
  10. Where is a good place to source a manual apple crusher to do hard apples and at a sensible price? Tried the normal press and almost broke it. I have 200KG picked last weekend from a single tree.
  11. Hope it works out well for him. Needs to build a log cabin now.
  12. 346 XPG Heated handles are worth the extra funds.
  13. OK. Understand now looking at a hunting site and how to run one.
  14. Hand tight should be fine and a good leather glove to undo. There is some slight pressure when the tanks are empty. Darn good saw though as the replacement for the 242XPG CAT.
  15. I like the idea and had tried to have customers take bundles as some had electric sawbenches and wanted to do their own logs and would be more simple for all but never took off as deliveries sites are so different. Works well abroad where log stoves can take long lengths of wood. Can also be used to load a heating boiler once a week.
  16. Used to run a large herd of Iron Age (Tamworth/Wild Boar cross) How can I help?
  17. Felled in the winterseason when the sap has stopped. Dried all the summertime season. Sold in the winterseason. Provided sunshine and fresh winds around the stack then has worked OK.
  18. Land Rover, Defender 110 Raw, #40154 - MOD Sales, Military Vehicles & Ex MOD Land Rovers for Sale
  19. I think all these union people should SHUT UP AND STOP MOANING all the time about having a hard life both at work and when retired before most working people can afford. I have no pension and as someone who works in woods cannot insure below the ankles/below the wrists and have to lose both eyes to be paid a rubbish amount. The daughter is a nurse and worked a long night shift whilst most were on strike and did not complain once. She often has to work overtime and is not paid. The son worked at Eddie Stobarts on long night shifts and does not complain about going on strike. (If he did no food in the shops!!) I would make all the moaners work for £16.000 and ban all strikes. The UK cannot afford to keep paying certain occupations more than everyone else because some have tantrums unless spoiled.
  20. :thumbup:Considering all the scrap collected I am as to the reason always left behind when caravans moved on.
  21. Good Post and helpful info. The cable alarms work well but there is a possible weak point I will not post in public. Should be able to do as in the USA and Australia to thieves. These mobile charge up angle grinders don't help with security issues. Chainsaw producers should be forced to take the first steps with secure marking on all new saws. (I NEVER purchase used saws and scrap old ones for spares)
  22. I have one. Good as woodstoves.
  23. Thanks for those useful links. BT's last update in that area from the postcode was 30/03/2006 (Said no date on WBC 21CN) Will look into alternative possible broadband as Openreach man said the firm is slow although cables are there in the grid and could be connected. It might all go wrong when the sun changes poles in December 2012.
  24. Hope you sold all the upper sections for Christmas trees like we do.
  25. Tiscali and Talk Talk are the worse broadband.
