  1. Which area of Sweden?
  2. Shipping wood from Africa is not at "eco friendly" and "a carbon neutral fuel". In England advertising them as such would result in hassle from Trading Standards. Worth checking with the estate on the island for reliable fuel sources. Hills, Forests and Glens - Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture
  3. That's until the avian influenza spreads through the over crowded cities.
  4. Shipping wood from Africa to here and in plastic sacks:confused1: That's like the FSC shipping charcoal from Brazil and calling it a sustainable product from managed forests. Bananas are acceptable as it cannot be grown outdoors here at present.
  5. It's both the 7 and 13 pin electric sockets. I have NATO plugs/hitches which make it difficult for people to "borrow" the towed units without being stopped by Police for no back lights working.
  6. Justice in Norge.
  7. I have tried for several weeks to contact the two firms in the USA I know who used to produce these but no response at all. (E-mails are going through and not bouncing back so might be going into a spam box which is never checked?) Is there someone on the forum who knows of an alternative reliable source as we have used this fine tool for logging firewood before and find very good on rough tree lengths when on the woodland ground. The spare curved bars and carbide chains are the items needed.
  8. Hope you are on the mend now and take the advice of the medical people. Follow the dream to where it takes one.
  9. Deer fencing nailed at the base onto strong pallets works well also.
  10. I have checked with friends in the legal trade and the Police again and will state the following which should help those unfortunate to have thieves stealing from them. One of the main reasons we decided to move the business was because of issues. Common and Criminal Laws. The ownership and possession of property gives a legal right to defend that including reasonable physical restraint in the circumstances. A person may use reasonable force to prevent crime and effecting/assisting lawful arrest of offenders including "citizens arrest". All persons in the UK have the legal right to defend property against criminal attack including possession of land. These are facts given to me on an E-mail and we have used various methods to stop thieves and will continue to do so. Who on the forum would allow someone to take a chainsaw from a vehicle? (that is classed as property the same as a home is in law)
  11. FOC disposal of clean woodchips and logs of all species in the Matlock area. Send me a PM.
  12. Maplins and Macro but the camera needs to take good pictures with a time/date to be legal and of use to all.
  13. All horses should have a passport and be microchipped now so if these are not then can be seized and disposed. Movement licences are needed when selling horses which these often are. Nick - How are the Gypsies entering the site? (cutting chains and fencing in which case it is willfull damage and trespass and you can remove the animals without going to court). There are firms who remove problem people all the time and some were involved at the so called Dale Farm. I heard in some areas the person has humane destroyed some horses and this results with them being moved from site. Often seems one law for some and a different law for the rest of normal society?
  14. Cedar and Sycamore. Will see if I have some pictures as have moved since.
  15. To see if it's worth going onto the list check with the council (FOI) who has all the emergency call outs and the rates paid in the last 24 months. Some councils officials are honest and some have free supplies of firewood at home. It's the same with normal felling contracts and I should not state more on here.
  16. It needs a stamp on the back of the ram splitting the wood so auto. Old methods of marking log for sale was with a logo stamp on the axe head.
  17. I have talked about this in depth with the local Police and one of the main issues is proving someone has been on the land and stealing wood. (hence using the simple effective paintball marking methods on wood/vehicles/peoples bodies which I would not be done for I am told) There are expensive DNA methods which do the same but need to be close to a person to work and these involve a risk of a serious direct conflict. (need to be level headed and not throw a wobble) Been told hiding behind the wood stacks with a baseball bat as not legal and to expect the thieves at night to be tooled up and willing to use force. (I have chased and caught a thief at 3.10am on site and the person complained to the local Police when they arrived about gravel rash on the face and was told should have stopped when told to do so). Reasonable force is allowed to protect person and property! There are certain methods I would like to use but like the freedom I have but these people are mugging small business all the time.
  18. A lack of women on this thread.
  19. That nonsence. Wood can be delivered to "Smoke Control" zones and the legal issue of burning that fuel in an approved stove is down to the home person. Trading Standards here checked someone's stove/paperwork/logs in the store late one weekend evening and no problems.
  20. VOSA might even find some stolen machines whilst checking. I heard more checking at weekends is due.
  21. There were hundreds slaughtered in southern Ireland I heard as Irish RSPCA could not cope and gave all owners a time period to send them in free. Too many rubbish horses being bred from bad stock is also a problem. The French and Norwegians like to eat them. There have been a few stolen and butchered in the fields in this area by Eastern Europeans the local vet informed us. Will be debarking all those Ash trees which is a shame.
  22. Turn it all into compost then it's worth much more. We used to be paid £28 a ton but had to be 18% moisture content.
  23. Shocking issue. Free horses to good homes? BBC News - 'Fly grazing' ponies under threat in Monks Wood, Wick
  24. Purchase a paintball machine gun (legal) and hide between the ISO's and have some fun when he arrives. Do erect "Private Land" "Keep Out" signs before hand.
  25. Sleeps in the warm wooden kennel outside but has been into the house so is aware of the place in case of issues. When we took the puppies to training were told to never allow them onto seats/beds/sleeping on the landing due to future control. Having read some of the comments I am sure we are doing the correct method. (no fleas/worms/bad breath and hound smells in the bedroom)
