  1. I'll chuck the 346xpg in for debate, for all the time Ive used it it's been great! showed my brother in law yesterday why you shouldn't buy cheap! husky 1-0 BMC
  2. Okay, so after much consideration Ive decided climbing is the way to go rather than foresty, so, anyone got any ideas about the best way to get into climbing? Im at college now doing nc forestry and Im considering going back next year to do my hnc arb, any thoughts? Or should I just get out there and get the experience (looking from an employers point of view aswell, are they more likely to take on someone whose been to college or someone with some experience)? Cheers for any input guys, much appreciated Huskyboy26
  3. Hey there, I'm interested in the vacancy but is this for someone with experience? I'm in my first year of college studying forestry and looking for related work. Cheers for any info
  4. Well the dealer provides the hydro for our area with saws so I guess they'd be used and abused but he does seem to favour husky, it just sounds as if it's down to personal preference and what your used to
  5. Im in dufftown a bit higher than elgin but I go to the forestry college in Inverness
  6. Well when I spoke to my dealer who does both he said go for the husky because apparently the stihls replacement for the 260 (the 261) are prone for the crankshafts knacking up? The only reason it's husky boy is that when your looking for jobs "stihlboy" sounds a bit lazy (a) but cheers for the help guys, really appreciate hearing the views of guys with a bit of experience
  7. Just firing this one out for debate but it's probably been settled before. I'm going to be looking into getting my first saw soon and a lot of people have advised on both these saws as good all rounders, pros and cons of both? Any help much appreciated, cheers
  8. They really are some stunning wood carvings! Keep up the good work (Y)
  9. Hi guys, can't seem to find anyone taking on young guys in my area, so I'm now offering volunteer work in the Morayshire area on my days off from college with the hope of gaining some experience. Im really keen to get started in this sector and I'll do any work for a start with someone, been told I make a mean cup of tea which is always a bonus

    Help

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon here, but htb would you be looking to take on an apprentice? I live locally and am very keen to get some experience, I go to college 3 days a week just now but would be free the other 4 Thanks for any input you can give me Ewen
  11. I stay in Dufftown, about 10 miles from Keith and 20 from Elgin. I travel back and forth to college at inverness 3 days a week which is around 50 miles away
  12. Hi there, just groping around in the dark to see if anyone is interested in taking on an apprentice in the north east Scotland area. I attend the Scottish School of Forestry at the moment and am very keen to gain some experience in the field. I don't moan at the first sight of hard work and really want to get my hands dirty! No job too small, should be doing my cs 30 and 31 at christmas time through college, already have the ppe.
