  1. i have found toros wont bag damp or wet,let alone cut low and bag wet stuff. Apart from some mechanical issues the john deere we have will bag wet, cut an ok speed and go into scalp lawn mode, But it is heavy!
  2. where i work our employer has a policy on snow days - covers wind etc so generally bad weather deal. if they declare the estate you work on closed due to weather then you get days pay, if you dont get there then you lose pay. now i am groundsman, so under gardens team, who in my nearly 20 years there havent had a declared snow day... yet the others, castle, office, shop, resteraunt, rangers all get snow days, often a week or so a year. So i can say be cautious in policy cause its easy to annoy some folks, for the days i know weather can be poor i keep indoor maintence or tractor works so never short of a job
  3. dewalt 18v cordless one with 5ah battery, used to have a milwaukee but batteries died, the dewalt is worlds better
  4. Wow cheaper than we got charged by John Deere for the door on a lil 3720 tractor. Door glass £500 plus vat, door seal £50 - 60 plus vat, and then fitting.
  5. Out of saws i use/own its the one i reach for least, prefer 351, 357, 372. Just doesnt seem to ever settle into work and always smokes most on startup. Same person maintaining, mixing fuel etc so fairly consistent if any bad practises would be accross all the saws i guess. Some folks do love them though, maybe i am just fussy and not modern enough in saws. It is light though!
  6. how do you wash/re proof it? i use nilfisk tech wash and rerpoofer occasionally on mine. Only leak was the zips and as mine was an early model before waterproof zips i eventually contacted clarks a mere 5 years after purchase! Yve did amazing, sooooo much more than expected or needed to and i now have a set of waterproof zips in mine. Great jacket for sure and will definetly buy another if mine ever wears out!
  7. making a start on my logs for 2016
  8. i belive his insurers got motivated and spent money to do works, along with a huge donation from prince charles, so very lil taxpayers money. priceless castle to replace, all money in land couldnt put that back it went in river.
  9. pretty mad time up here for sure, clean up effort will go on all year and more. they got very lucky with the castle, didnt think it would see the week out the way it was going.
  10. give tipper its own earth to test, jump lead from battery to earth on tipper, disconnect one on truck first. if that works then much cleaning up of earth points and then seal up to keep water out in order.
  11. bosch, makita, hitachi all good. currently have bosch 4.5 inch and it seems unkillable and a hitachi 9 inch i use for cutting stone mainly, seems fine.
  12. you couldnt pay me a million pounds to stick my finger into a saw like that,,,,,,,omg no way
  13. soooooooooooo much better than hrs of google and evil bay, especially if honda engines were on it
  14. did some online shopping today and i think best prices are found between amazon and ebay shops. one seller sells individual dewalt batteries on amazon single for 69, free postage. same seller seller ebay shop 124 for a pair same batteries with free postage. nice saving. i spent an hour comparing the two sites and saved about 45 quid. well happy.
  15. looks like a nice tractor setup jon.
  16. hey Jon, Yukk to them sprouts, wind free zone up here!! Had a good day with family, ate good food and now relaxing with a nice cold beer. Got to do it all again with lynns family on 27th so more food. may need to diet after that.

  18. ahh bless john deere, had deck off our zero turn recently and yep they like pulleys
  19. i have the euroclamp, was one insurers specified for trailer. wouldnt withstand a cordless grinder but not too light so slowing down kind of item.
  20. for all the cost i would send the pump to somebody who does these, get tested and go from there. how does the engine run? does it sound like its running good? i also have a honda engine powered pressure washer, its got bags of pressure but its a good hose and lance from pressure washer company. pump fault would be a likely suspect
  21. its truly crap the amount of theft going on. i got house done over years ago, mercifully by idiot teens going on stuff they stole. i got a right telling off from cops for checking house with a big hammer in my hands...... all i can say is if caught in act, through chipper and into piggery with them
  22. just treated myself to one of these lovely toys DEWALT DCF899P2 XR BRUSHLESS IMPACT WRENCH + 2 X 5.0AH LI-ION BATTERIES - 18V
  23. our limit is 400 points a day, on manufacturers data. so old husky 351 is 4 hrs per day, 555 is 2 hrs per day. stihl fs480 strimmer is 4 hrs we operate on red for worst, so angle grinder etc orange - 555 yellow - cant remember which machine green, most mowers etc and fs480, green is 8 hrs use
  24. i am banned from washing machine, but other half washes mine no bother. i do get the blame for 11 washing machine deaths in 19 years.....
