  1. 35 is way underpowered for all those tasks. we run a 3720 john deere 45hp turbo with their fancy electronics load match stuff and its still underpowered. cant lift big weights etc. away hopefully to purchase 88hp valtra to get properly in game, you should manage with 70hp, tried a 70hp kubota this last week.
  2. Go on facebook and look up Derek Prosser - he is up my way in aberdeenshire and has one for sale
  3. A series has swivel seat too
  4. cant comment on type of work but just had a demo A series 88hp valtra in, lovely machine if you get some extras like the electronic loader controls if going for a loader. Air seat (heated as standard), get the rear wheel weights and wow it feels nailed to ground. Lovely tractor
  5. wood wasp i reckon
  6. google hrn tractors, insch depot. ask for derek whyte he knows of almost brand new second hand unit. bet would ship no bother as they do all time. say david wood at crathes mentioned it
  7. between the 20 or so my volunteer and 4 i got other week when he hit a nest in old stump with a strimmer, burn them all lil bastard things
  8. aw man just noticed this - you were 15 mins away from here, could have given you a tour of Crathes
  9. Caleb How do you find the A series valtra? What kind of tasks do you do with yours - ie loader work? lot of time with timber trailer on? Reason i ask is i am looking at a A series hi tech demo hopefully next week as my work is considering one for next year.
  10. having through last 19 years run hst machines, ok smaller - b2400 kubota, b3030 kubota and now 3720 john deere with all the nice electrics i have a small idea on how i would go. Avoid hst and get geared - hst performance and power, especially on hilly sites drop off quick yearly and in case of first two blow pumps very expensively! and you dont want to see the qoute we got to repair the 3720 if noise turns out to be pump..... something geared with good on move range selecter and gears in range be best i reckon. tried 5 series john deere 90hp away to try valtra a series 88hp jd was a lil clumsy but nice.
  11. yeah there is a power difference, but the kubota seemed more prone to breakages, silly things we found over last few years to compare. our first kubota b2400 lasted 9 - 10 years of dogs abuse before it died, we didnt replace leading edge or weld bucket for first 8 years, seemed built of thicker material although loader was a nightmare to take on/off. the 3030 was soft, took 1 year to have to weld bucket and replace leading edge etc, hydraulics seemed to leak easy, didnt seem as heavy so often lifted back end doing loader works. died after 3 in a big way internally in hyd system. jd 3720 hydraulics seem bomb proof on loader side, lifted some huge lumps of stick for a compact machine, will pull a serious load on trailer up hills, ok down into B range but i guess 2 tons easy. cab with A/C is a lovely place to be in summer, cracking heater in winter.
  12. having used the kubota b3030 for 3 years and now the jd 3720 for 4 years at work, i would say get the jd easily.
  13. yep they do - road tow or tracked
  14. nope no filter on it
  15. yeah having seen my garden track torn to peices cause of a slight drainage issue and tractor and wood trailer - to point i thought ohhh god! a good digger driver can fix scary amounts in a day so worth asking around to find one.
  16. spud what would you charge to give carb another clean, boil in US cleaner? dont want to chuck it but given cost of a new carb depending on costs it may be worth a punt.
  17. aberdeenshire, found a genuine makita carb but eeeek the price! with it being a walbro i hoped could get before makita put their stamp on it to make me less broke
  18. compression seems to be ok - still seems good to pull over, thats all i can gauge on. its the first ever carb i have done so no guarantees i cleaned it right - just with airline, brake cleaner and then carb cleaner but all guessing i did it ok! low hrs machine as i only use in own garden so not abused by folks. fresh ish petrol, no more than a few weeks old and splitter is running on same age stuff fine so guess thats ok. new plug, new fuel filter. air filter looks clean. and thats the limit of what i know to check or how to check it. any guesses on where i can get a new carb? quite sad as its been a cracking machine since day one cheers
  19. Hi spud, got a makita 4 stroke leaf blower with carb troubles, suspect some dirt got through well old and knackered looking felt type filter. Does run but rough. Had carb to bits 4 times now and cleaned as best i can, carb cleaner etc. Now giving up! its a walbro wyk 260 carb. Would it be as simple as finding a new carb for sale (makita want arm - leg and other organs), cant find anywhere else easily it seems. or send you the carb for a look see?
  20. small donation and facebook share.
  21. i can get pics tommorow or so. will post up. how hard back did you go? you able to pop up a pic? i wouldnt be concerned at all, its a 5 - 10 year process to get a good cover again.
  22. Honda GX390 QX Petrol Engine got a honda from here couple years ago, was good price and helpful staff.
  23. why off a generator - cant you run off a plug at home? equally if has to be portable and away from all mains, a honda engine coupled to a compressor provide a lot of power, enough for air tools etc
  24. look up mobile storage systems for their range of boxes. i have one and its great. lockable too. Mobile Storage Systems - Land Rover Storage, Land Rover Security, Load Area Storage, Vehicle Storage and more!
  25. we have had two kaaz mowers at work, if its dry conditions they bag amazingly well, nimble, easy to maintain and generally seem to go on for an age. dont like the small tank for fuel that means i need to carry spare, want an all day tank like the john deere. if i could time my cuts to suit the dryest days i would definetly have another kaaz. we just sold our 2011 mower to partners dad, he using it now for grass cutting round and loves it.
