  1. My mate spilt his scrabble box getting out of his car. I asked him what's the word on the street?
  2. Our youngest was born just as disposable nappies first came out in the 70s.I was left on my own 1 evening and had to change a smelly one with only 1 fresh 1 remaining in the bag.Got in a right old muddle with those sticky tab things and ended up going down to my workshop and fetching some insulation tape to fasten it all together.Mrs oldwoodcutter still brings it up in mixed company when feeling particularly beligerant.
  3. My stihl dealer advised against putting a hedger on the end of my ht101,as the reciprocating movement causes premature wear [he said]. I use a kombi unit with long reach trimmer and an extra 1 metre extension for clipping off those high whiskers.Prefer my tripod though, but you havnt always got the room to use it.Hope this helps.
  4. Yes,ide recommend a new england flip line,3 metre unless you're on trees of the big variety a lot then get a 5 metre.Mine is as flexable as i like, and have a isc grab by my right hand.
  5. Took my black lab poppy to be put to sleep on monday, she was 15. Mrs Oldwoodcutter says we're having no more.
  6. Took my grandson to the zoo today, there was only one animal in it - a small dog. It was a shihtzu.
  7. Yes,ide say they are very well built,i hire a 150 in a fair bit and my boys havnt broken anything yet, also a lot of brash goes through it but they havn't blocked it up once.I cant fault it.
  8. I can vouch for Spuds honesty and workmanship,he could well change that non runner into a reliable workhorse.
  9. Maybe nothing to do with it but i was down the Pickenham road outside Swaffham 2 weeks ago.A transit stopped and a family of likely lads came too close for comfort to my pick up,i stopped the saw, told my chipper man to shut down then faced up to them. They said they'd come over to pick blackberrys.Gave them a small bit of advice and they cleared off.
  10. The 460 is one of the finest saws ive ever used. For the best of both worlds run it with a 25" bar,and keep an 18" bar and chain in your truck. Then you're ready for anything.
  11. Ive noticed they seem to prefer these drinks to bringing sandwiches, havn't noticed any visible signs of extra energy though.Keeps them upright most of the time leastways.
  12. Apart from admiring tommy's bench, was just looking at the boots - used to have a high pair like those a long time ago, handy when in snake or tick territory.
  13. The part i enjoy is the sound a cheque makes as the client tears it from his cheque book while ime standing with a wet shirt on his doorstep.
  14. Seen a few tractors in my time but laughed out loud at that.
  15. You could try Woods of Swaffham,he has one wall of his gunshop covered in air rifles, worth a try.01760 722609 hope this helps.
  16. Mrs oldwoodcutter loved Mick mcmanus, and disliked steve logan.I enjoyed watching Billy Two Rivers, especially when he'd had enough of his opponent breaking the rules and eventually floored them with his 'tomahawk' chop.
  17. Mrs oldwoodcutters corsa was recalled for somthing or other, and in so doing the radio code was lost.Tried to get them to pay for it but they woudnt have it.Cost me £25.
  18. hs 81r 30 inch for me too, cant fault it,connie, blackthorn hornbeam privet etc
  19. Looked at a connie job this week, the top of the hedge had its whiskers touching 2 wires which were the very old twisted metal ones which looked to have no insulation on at all, running the length of the hedge. I advised client to ask edf to reduce it,and meantime not to touch the hedge at all. Then ide come back and side it up. Incidently,at the end of garden was a high voltage 3 side by side cables to a transformer, and these had actualy been burning the twigs and leaves in the canopy of a sycamore they passed through.
  20. But not usually at this time of year.
  21. A rabbit sitting in a tree?
  22. My 460 is one of the best saws ive ever owned, and i use it at every opportunity, within reason.
  23. Thats bad Matt. What is that in pictures 3,4,and 6 please.
  24. Giving my youngest daughter away at her church wedding yesterday, did the 'father of the bride' speach last night, then danced with mrs oldwoodcutter under the flashing lights with the youngsters til early this morning.Does that count?
  25. My new 460 came with the black and silver filter, been keeping an eye on it and not much dust has got past it yet.
