  3. Got my old dads 6ft Tyzack 'american tooth' hanging up in the back hall where is been for yonks. Got rakers in it,and is still sharp as hasnt been used in anger since he last touched it up,about a million years ago.
  4. Ive had 20 somethings out with me that by 10 o clock would have trouble pulling the skin off a rice pudding. My chipper man is 64 and can keep going effortlessly til i call a finish to it. Theres a big difference between strength and stamina.

  7. Went out first thing to do a little job,got wet,got paid,got home and cleaned up,then drove into town for a little cooked lunch as mrs oldwoodcutter had gone out for the day.

  9. Yes i use a clarks one,very handy but got to watch it,ime wary of it and avoid bringing it straight back towards my legs,prefer to use in a way that if i miss the log then the sappie is going away from me.

  11. hot sun then heavy rain,got soaked mid morning,had to come past the yard at lunchtime so called in and changed into a dry shirt and trousers. By 2 o'clock wet again. Had my waterproofs on a times but seemed like spending more time taking them on and off, than i was cutting.
  12. when vosa pull your load of chip over,and one of the lads has had to take a dump in the back there earlier,i dare say they may ask for your liscence.
  13. If most of your work is on the heavy side,then the 460 would be my recomendation. I run 18" and 25" bars so best of both worlds For felling and ringing up its perfect,and when snedding you dont need to stop walking. Hope this helps.

  18. There's nothing like shoveling a lawn clear before you start, to set you up for the day.
  19. couple of weeks ago i removed and ground out a big conny hedge. Mixed in 10 bags of moisture retaining compost and a couple of ton or so of well rotted manure. Then planted his shrubs for him.Connies had taken all the goodness out.
  20. i know of a few tree boys around here that mooch around there yards during the day, wishing they had 6 days of treework in front of them to get stuck into.
  21. One of my daughters x boyfriends really keyed up her clio when she parked it outside her husband-to-be's house. I knew it had been keyed of course but just presumed it was random,it was only after a couple of years that she told me it was him,because she knew i would have gone and found the little scrote and rearranged the parting in his hair. She sold it later for about a thousand less than it was worth before he did it.
