  1. hot sun then heavy rain, got soaked mid morning, had to come past the yard at lunchtime so called in and changed into a dry shirt and trousers. By 2 o'clock wet again. Had my waterproofs on a times but seemed like spending more time taking them on and off, than i was cutting.
  2. when vosa pull your load of chip over, and one of the lads has had to take a dump in the back there earlier,i dare say they may ask for your liscence.
  3. If most of your work is on the heavy side, then the 460 would be my recomendation. I run 18" and 25" bars so best of both worlds For felling and ringing up its perfect, and when snedding you dont need to stop walking. Hope this helps.
  4. or if theres been a large greenhouse erected underneath it meantime.
  5. That looked a nice little number, thanks for posting Dan.
  6. and avoid standing around chatting to mrs miggins while the rest of the team have the sweat rolling off them.
  7. Welcome back Lorry.
  8. There's nothing like shoveling a lawn clear before you start, to set you up for the day.
  9. couple of weeks ago i removed and ground out a big conny hedge. Mixed in 10 bags of moisture retaining compost and a couple of ton or so of well rotted manure. Then planted his shrubs for him.Connies had taken all the goodness out.
  10. i know of a few tree boys around here that mooch around there yards during the day, wishing they had 6 days of treework in front of them to get stuck into.
  11. One of my daughters x boyfriends really keyed up her clio when she parked it outside her husband-to-be's house. I knew it had been keyed of course but just presumed it was random,it was only after a couple of years that she told me it was him, because she knew i would have gone and found the little scrote and rearranged the parting in his hair. She sold it later for about a thousand less than it was worth before he did it.
  12. a trimmer like that would certainly save me some blood, sweat, and tears. thanks for posting ammer.
  13. i heard on the grapevine that dom was in your area looking for recently bought ringed landrovers jon.
  14. All i can say is fair play to them.
  15. Well done, hope thats the first of many good jobs.
  16. Yes, you dont have to buy brand new - ive had my old webley falcon since the mid sixties and it can still make an old rat jump a foot in the air and drop down stone dead.
  17. Hi steve, hope you dont mind me asking, but 1 of my 200ts is playing up again-after 20 minutes it wont tick over when brakes on,take brake off and its ok for another 1\2 hour then it wont turn the chain at all, just as though the brakes on but its not. I take cover off and clutch pack is real hot as is chain and bar. All the best - Tim.

  18. Ide have to think twice before following them up there, looks a little on the high side.
  19. The trick used to be that when you were going flat out, reach forward and pull off the air pre cleaner, and then it would go even faster. As you have the oportunity to get it,then go for it,once sorted it will run forever.
  20. One of my sons in law is in royal navy and i agree, his work trousers and jackets, and his foul weather trousers and jackets are all absolutely first class quality. Ive seen and used army and air force clothing, but his navy stuff is in a different league. The last time he came on leave he came out with me working for a day,so i took the opportunity to give him my sizes so heres hoping.
  21. That reminds me of a workmate who spent his last penny on a muddy fox when they first came out,for his sons birthday. This was pikied when about 2 days old from outside his sons snooker club, and although he scoured all the backyards in town never found it of course. Thats all we heard all day every day for weeks, that blinkin disapearing muddy fox.
  22. Am going to be a grandad again,my youngest daughter is having her 12 week scan at end of june - does that count?
  23. I had a close look at a clark logbuster 6 that a pal of mine has splashed out on. Its a vertical electric 3000w and 5 or 6 ton from memory,it was quick as you can set the stroke of the ram and it cracked through everything he put on its table in no time. He uses it on wet days in his big shed.
  24. One of my young shavers has the nasty little habit of gobbing out every few yards.Ive told him often enough not to do it,especialy in customers back gardens. The other morning he's in the back of my truck, and as usual propels one out the window, not realizing that he hadn't opened it. I dont usually swear, but did offer him some advice as to his future work prospects if coming out with me again.
  25. Getting a puncture obviously stops the trolley, often just when your busy with it,so i filled the tubes with that anti-puncture stuff, the lynch pins somehow kept coming off the axles so i now zip clip the pins on. One of the best things ive ever bought though.
