  1. Got a new cap for mine and this ones been much better.I also make sure the rim of the tank and the o ring on the cap are nice and clean. If it breaks while you're out on the job and you only own one 020 you're really in the soup.
  2. When i was pushing mrs oldwoodcutters trolley round Netto a few weeks ago i spotted a pallet full of 16" 50cc chinese saws at £50 a throw.I couldn't resist opening up a box and it looked a right plastic maggot.Funnily enough by the next week, they'd all gone.If you dont want a saw thats unreliable or will fly to pieces in your hands,my advice would be a stihl or husky Monkey Boy - if you prefer oregon, you can always run it on that.
  3. I can feel the sweat running into my eyes just looking at the pictures.
  4. Sometimes they'll come out to do 'before and after' filming,i dont mind as long as they keep out of the way.
  5. Hi Zak,i dont know if you're 17 or 70 but producing firewood manually is going to be hard work, but the younger you are,the easier your body can adapt to it. A bit like using a computer - ive just copied out the advice andy gave you onto a piece of paper as ime of an age that i find using a laptop very difficult, but am learning slowly.Good luck with your firewood, with effort you will make a living.
  6. After the war things were very tight, but rabbits were everywhere round here before mixy,so my old dad would often bring home some fryers - baby to half grown ones which the old woman would put in the frying pan to fill us up. mrs oldwoodcutter still does me one occasionally.
  7. I'll bear that in mind
  8. If its any help my new HS81R just wouldn't run properly, exactly as your first 2 paragraphs.Local dealer said its to do with lean running and emissions law.But ive solved it by trial and error - i start it on full choke and keep it on 1\2 choke for first 10 minutes, then its fine all day.Hope this helps.
  9. I pruned a mahonia last nite after tea.Not so much got out of bed for £50 as off my bum for £25 for 15 minutes work, and thats mrs oldwoodcutters sunday lunch sorted out.
  10. if your idea is anything to do with filler caps, please offer it to stihl.
  11. even after you've talked to both parties and thought all was ok,they can still kick off.sometimes ive had to load up again a bit smartish when caught between 2 fires, before ive hardly started.and the ladies are often worse than the men.
  12. They even ripped a local village post box off its pole the other night.
  13. hiflex type c for me,only wish they'd been around 45 years ago.
  14. i had someone actually get into my work area the other day and ask me "who comissioned you to take this tree down?"
  15. had a customer show me round his garden wearing shorts this morning - at least i think they were shorts.
  16. when for once she doesnt moan about the smell of steaming clothes around the logburner. when your groundie is about to collapse you offer him some cheerful encouragement, even though you are more tired than him. when you take her out for sunday lunch and soon realise that you forgot to clean the dogpoo off the truck pedals, and the groundies seatbelt has left a bold green stripe across her new pink jacket.
