  1. If this happens, dont stand there looking up for it's return with an open mouth in awe, the speed they come down at it could punch a hole in your calvin cliens on the way out!
  2. Good level headed post, I like your thought process.
  3. You might find it awkward to get to the main stem from a lift, but they are perfect for trimming the sides, (assuming you are conny bashing & no nests). Climbing is more efficient for the height reduction, but you need to know what your doing when knocking wood over which by nature is above you, this applies to any method, be it climbing or from a lift. It can go wrong very quickly, even with experience of cutting, but without the experience, & no rescue plan / climber in place, you would be chancing it.
  4. Likely to be leylandi or the like, in which case reducing them in height would be fine, but the sides should also be trimmed, pics will tell all.
  5. Here is the waggon.
  6. I built a Vardo some years ago, the wheels I had made for it used Iroco, & never gave me any problems, & that waggon got used every day for years, still going now, it weighed about a ton empty. Heres a nice watch on wheelright work. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNniwfbiXzc]Making a Wooden Carriage Wheel pt 1 - YouTube[/ame]
  7. If the governer spring is week this can cause them to hunt too.
  8. true I beg to differ.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsXoMS9-xxg]Three Wheels on my Wagon - YouTube[/ame]
  9. That's lovely!
  10. Signed, there is every reason to, & no reason not to. If we all used this fuel, less people would suffer the long term risks of benzine inhalation from inefficient 2 stroke motors in close environments.
  11. Hi there Chris.
  12. So sorry to hear of the loss to both of you, my heart goes out to you.
  13. Hope you get your keys back Jon, I just can't work out how 1/2 a ton of apple cheese, a plastic bag & piggy back ride up Snowden are going to resolve the dilemma!
  14. Hopefully this will mean a prosecution of the thieves will ensue...
  15. Great imagination, I love it!
  16. Wishing you the best in your fight here mate, as others have said, push for the best treatment, & take the fight to the illness.
  17. Not a nice thing to get up your shirt, or on soft skin such as inner arm, I saw a good few last year but did not get had by them, purely because they give a good beep on my radar now. Good heads up to those who have not had the pleasure!
  18. Dont encourage him Silky. Nice lunge though mate.
  19. Nice mate, looks like you have been modeling for the cycling machine screen shot!
  20. As said, do make sure you plate the front up, it will help with collecting the cuttings, & more importantly prevent stones from causing damage or injury to bystanders. Sharpen the blade as said, & balance it, easy enough to do, good mowers these.

    Gps

You can get a Satmap Active Ten off ebay for under £100, various maps available, very good bit of kit. Here is their website, if you pay a yearly sub, you get all the online mapping ability. Probably a bit over the top for what you want, but worth considering, have a good read of the website. GPS and Map Specialist - Satmap: Way Ahead - The Ultimate GPS
  22. Thanks for the detail on the job, looks great!
  23. I have both saws, & had often wondered about this type of bar on the Echo, good post mate. any info on the bar mod?

    4x4 van

Depending on what you want to carry, but the Suzuki Jimny is a fine little 4wd, with the rear seats folded down you can get a few saws etc in there, great off road, not so much fun on a motorway drag, with a light foot you can get about 40mpg out of them. Bomb proof reliable, will legally tow 1100kg.
  25. So I find it too, old school consideration, & a joy to come across Huck.
