  1. The xr400 after a little fettling. DSCF0022 by geoff321, on Flickr
  2. Probably not viable, but it would be nice to let it do it's own thing.
  3. That's an impressive fracture David, is the rest coming down?
  4. Hello to you!

Good advice, I have the 181, & it has worked well for the year I have owned it, & with a muffler mod, ( couple of holes drilled), it cuts well for a basic saw.

New one nay, loads of grief, old ones yea!
  8. Pretty much the same in the winter months here.
  9. Just as an aside, Cameron has been getting a lot of grief about the somerset levels floods & rivers not getting dredged. Did you know the Parrett and Tone rivers have not been dredged in 20 years. Who was in power for the vast majority of that time? hmm..... The Parrett is running at 60% efficiency, how much of the 40% loss of efficiency would be attributable to the last 2 to 3 years that Cameron has been in power. labour came into power in 1997, the rivers were never dredged under their government. hmm again...
  10. Get it 'Spud ported' mate...

    Jokes???

This on another (bike) forum, the bloke was after a bit of a chat about marital difficulties he was experiencing, shall I stay or go type of thing.
  12. I think bumping into some of the chancers out there can make one cynical, does it to me, this bloke is alright, & did offer a few bottles of vino. Not saying that you arn't a cynical old git though... Before you say it takes one to know one, yep that's me!
  13. Good on them for it, easy to sit back & criticize because your anti- royal, energy better spent going & helping out there yourself imo.
  14. Talked to the op, really nice fella.
  15. I have a large heap of rings over my field, gonna give him a call & tell him he can have it.

    what big saw ??

Good saw is the 3120, but its a lump to use up a tree, the 395xp is a good option imo, loads of power, & just a bit lighter to use.
  17. Hope it all goes to plan today, onwards & upwards!

    my 201t utter

I have to agree, get them refreshed & ported, Steve you will be pleasantly surprised ( not shocked) at how these saws respond in real work, much more responsive to your finger, & more guts in larger cuts.

  20. Yeh, but that was an easy error to make, the second groundy who mounted the bollard was not at fault, just Felix stood still for a moment too long next to the tree!

The chain on the 201 is far too tight to let it work, you have an issue there for sure, But the motor does sound off. These saws can & do run ok, they are tied down by the emission laws from the factory, no big deal to sort them out. That saw has such a tight chain, ( or a serious hot bar from oiling failure), that it can't get it's knickers down to
  22. Great news, in the context of how it could have been, wishing your lady the very best in the future. My brother in law has had a recent & sudden decline in health, the outlook is dismal for him. Your good news has rather cheered me up, bless you & your family.
  23. Sounds about right Mark.
  24. Wishing you all the best with this, keep us posted, & if you need anything, I think I can say we will help.
  25. I will provide a lid mate, will pick one up from Does monday, pm your address or you can pick it up.
