  1. Good advice Scraggs, especially regarding the parts supplier, best avoided if you want a reliable motor.
  2. If you don't 'know' landy's , always get someone who does to go look at it. Get a good one & it will serve you well, a worn out one will be a pita, just like any brand really, but a lot of landy's get worked very hard.
  3. I had 3 of those Bedford HA vans off royal mail, brilliant little motors. I had an old Anglia van ( same source) too.
  4. That will be 93.5 m, I had to guess as one end goes of the edge of the picture, schoolboy error!
  5. Leyland Terrier tipper, 3strand, parachute co harness, old Partner saw & a couple of Sachs Dolmars along the way.
  6. Fascinating little saw, cant wait for the video!
  7. Great post.
  8. Things happen too fast to give you a chance to react, the visor might help slow the chain down a bit, but offers no protection per se. To the op, get well soonest, & well done owning up to your error.
  9. !3.5 t
  10. Those European wasps are very unpleasant, they frighten the stuffing out of me & give me anaphalactic shock, ( however it's spelt). Very often the nests are on the fringes of a trees crown, or up in a hedge.
  11. That is harsh, I hope you can get up & running soonest.
  12. Am I right in thinking the new 170 is a china made saw? I was after buying one from my dealer, as the last one I had was bombproof, (I gave in away to a relative), & was advised against.
  13. I'm not arguing, merely confused by your apparent contradiction, feel free to reply.
  14. So do you agree he 'is quite right', as you posted, or, as in the post after, that there are good & bad in every country? Seems rather muddled & contradictory to me. Also, to say you just 'repeated what someone else told me', well it's your post, so you either stand by it, ( as you did), or why else post it?:confused1:
  15. No worries, got some photo evidence if needed!
  16. Couple of pics from a willow, old defect, & nice failure. DSCF0003 by geoff321, on Flickr DSCF0005 by geoff321, on Flickr
  17. You sir are a fair judge of character, & will not require rule 4 to be applied in this instance, as you are not actually calling me insensitive. Even had you, I'm sure your position would have been judged a fair call by our minions!
  18. Yep, I have a way with words, I need to use lots of them to make my point, ho hum.
  19. I notice that you have added the last line in this post after I replied, smoke & mirrors? Yes, as a straight up bloke I will admit that my location might well skew my opinion here, but my grip on reality is sound, as was my first post in this matter, to which you have found no response appertaining to it, other than observations of my person. Keep it third party, & on subject or it is pointless mate.
  20. Sure, I agree with you on that statement, but dispute the validity of the link as described in my last post, & hence find your post to be a little weak by way of response to my post, come on you can do better than that!
  21. Very nice, enjoy!
  22. That research was carried out in one area, known for poor work prospects if I am reading it right. That would not reflect the general traits for the whole country, in fact you could argue that to use it as a generic model for the whole of the uk might be a deliberate skew of the reality.
  23. Spot on. It's obvious, unless one is trying to convince oneself that it's ok to steal something, coz that's what it is, theft.
  24. As Huck says,4/5 ton. That's still a nice lump for some homeowner to scratch away at, free too which is refreshing considering some of the adds about.
  25. That's bad, were they selective in what was taken, there seems to be a pattern developing in some areas.
